That wreck was smack dab in front of a church...I needed creamer and stopped in Food Lion on the flip flop and saw an employee who was at the wreck...He said the guy was had been in church and was coming too Food Lion to pick up his wife from work...He was pinned in...Glad he was a church man and hoping he's with the Father tonight...
I can go the rest of my life and not see that again..

Yep, I woke up to snow too 
Katie was outside with the shovel...my response was "Oh hell no!" I had night duty on the basement...I ain't shoveling snow that's gonna melt in a few hours!

Ugh Fran and Bov.....I was hoping we'd all escape that latest round of old man winter, even if it was a milder one. No way would I shovel either Bov. The sun is high enough now to melt it pretty quickly.

Bov I once had a GF with the same basement you have obviously....she had a vacuum as well....Hours spent sweeping water and sucking it up...That vacuum got damn heavy too....
Then there was Mom's basement...For years my Dad siphoned it with a water hose...That was no fun at all either...After Dad passed and it became my responsibility I picked the first spot on the floor that accumulated water....Marked it....Drew a line straight too the door...Whipped out my trusty auto body air hammer and busted out all that concrete...Then a 100ft trench too the creek...One catch basin in the basement...2 more basins in yard accumulation points...Took me about a week...Has worked famously until those frogs built a condo in it a few months back...Guessing they got a free ride too the creek as I haven't seen 'em since....
Those Sure-Fire batteries for my flashlight???Shipped from the Bay...Marked delivered....Oh where could they be?????????? A complication I don't need as my dog thinks he weighs 150lbs...and there's wild stuff out here at night,,,,and I'm on my last 2 batts....I got other great brand flashlights but once you use that Sure Fire nothing else works for you....

If it were up to me, I'd go with putting in a sump hole in the basement, but it's not gonna happen. Here in town permit hell, it would be a major expense and red tape hassle.
