Needle aspiration showed no malignant cells...yay! She said most likely the scenario I mentioned above, that he already had a small "old man bump" on his paw and the groomer clipped the top off. It is mildly infected, so Dr gave some antibacterial solution to wash it with twice a day. Got his annual shots while we were there too.

Whew...I feel better!

I trust, Bov, that you'll educate the "groomer" in terms laced with profanities the difference between the stuff they're supposed to be clipping and the living, if not pretty tissue they shouldn't?

You set yourself up for this, Lady. You should have got a damn cat. They get sick or die? Aw, shucks. You get another and move on. You let a dog get his paws wrapped around your heart? He rips a piece of it out of your chest and takes it with him to Doggie Heaven.

Not necessarily so, PI. It all depends on how you treat the cat. My last cat was a friend, not just a pet. When I scraped him off of the main highway, I swore that I would never have another pet, again. That was over 30 years ago and so far, I have kept my promise.

Ouch Jerry :(

Yes PI, I most certainly have Chase's entire soul merged with mine! If I found a tumor on myself I'd think well sheet! On Chase, I went full blown panic mode

He refused to wear the cone of shame, so the vet put a little boot on his paw. He's not having any part of that either, so I sit here with him to keep him from licking on it. Yep, he owns me!

Back atcha Jerry! Hang on to your shorts...just had a wicked line of storms pass here and on it's way to you!

Aw, you wimpy East Coasters, whining about a glorified April shower. Hey, we get nasty rain storms here too. Nobody descends into their basements, curling themselves up into fetal balls.

But seriously, folks, I don't know what's worse: hurricanes you see coming for days, the brunt of which slams its fist on your windows for hours while it decides whether or not to knock your home over.

Or Earthquakes you never see coming, and are over in two seconds of terror; by the time the roof has collapsed on your skull--or not--you didn't have time to think about death.

Hey, I'm a cat person, Jerry. I've always been, as long as I can remember. My mom was a single mom with three kids long before that particular domestic situation was more common than not. And she decorated her children's lives with a cat--a long series of them. Low maintenance, low cost.

At one point she took in a dog: Lady was her name, a Toy Collie. No living thing on this Earth ever loved the five bi-pedals in her midst more intensely, more unconditionally.

I'm sorry Bov, but Lady loved me more than Chase loves you.

The heartbreak to an 8 year-old seeing Lady convulsing post-impact with a car bumper is still fresh to this here 56 year-old.
