Dig, thank you. No liner, my MIL has had that part of her driveway graveled for many years. This was just replenishing it. I did my patio in Florida with bricks but didn't use a liner there either. Just dug it out, leveled, dry laid the brick and swept sand into the cracks between the bricks.
