I used to fight that green battle too Tracy! Do you use chlorine or the peroxide method of chems for your pool? I started out with the peroxide but when I got an auto cleaner to creep around the pool and switched to chlorine I had better results. I used to by baking soda by the pounds LOL. But that was in Florida where we never had to put the pool to bed for winter.

Hey guys. We don't have a pool. Thought about one a few times and nixed the idea. WE know several people around here that have them and it's way to much trouble. Trouble free is my motto. Came with old age. LOL
I like trouble free too Fran! I would take care of a pool, but I'd rather have a hot tub. Turn off the heat in the summer and...ahhhh...yup!

Hate the green battle Bov! We use chlorine but the problem is the filter. It's one of those easy set pools (15 feet X 4 feet deep) and the crap filter that they come with in no way can handle that amount of water effectively. I am ready to just take it down already!! Grrrrrr.

Ahh, yep. We had an 18ft oval and upgraded the pump and filter. About 2 years after we divorced it got wiped out by a hurricane.
Got a one day reprieve from the heat and we got some rain to boot finally. Back to the oven to morrow.
I know the feeling. It has cooled down tonight so it's nice for now. Super hot tomorrow they say. Not looking forward to it.
Still warm in cny, though should cool off a bit later this week.

Same here Mark and Fran. We got a little rain last night but not enough to help much. Southwestern Ct got more rain, and along the coast.
We got some good rain here but the hot day tomorrow is going to dry up the benefits.
It is really bad here. I remember droughts in 83 and 87 a couple a few years ago, but nothing like this. This is epic, I don't think there is anything worse than drought. Heat wave: Midwest plain 'out of whack' as records shatter - latimes.com This is from 10 days ago, now we're in round two.
