What a beautiful place! Looks so peaceful by the water there

Things are going well here. I know there will be struggles from time to time, but he's still very positive and determined to live a sober life. He's been doing some AA meetings on his days off from the day program. For now it feels like the weight I've been carrying on my shoulders for so long has lightened by a ton

Bov alcoholism has played a big part on my side of the family and on DH's.

I know how destructive it can be......big (((hugs))) to you and to your hubby?!!! Along with a prayer for the strength that is gong to be needed.

Thank you all! Jj, yes it's my hubby. It's definitely a long and difficult road, I have walked it myself and have been sober for a little over 20 years. I'm so pleased that hubby is eager in his progress and seems to be very hungry for recovery today!

Well then YOU deserve a big congrats...I have watched family members try to quit and fail so I know it takes a lot of strength and determination!!!

Thank you Jj! This is the only place I talk about hubby (and countless PMs with my besties here) and the support has helped profoundly! For myself, I haven't felt an urdge to drink in years, and my hubby's issues have strengthened my resolve, but I never would have thought I'd still be with an alcoholic. Every time I would get my ducks in a row to leave over the past 2.5 years, my God voice would tell me I wasn't finished here. I'm grateful that he's getting help and digging deeper than ever to find healthy ways to cope!

None of you knows how very much your support means to me, and I will never be able to thank each of you enough

Well I'm glad you have found God... he helps in many ways to fight the battles most do not have the strength to fight.

Bov, I'm getting use to the new finish on the BP compared to the old finish. The new finish is so smooth, I was afraid at first it was going to slip out of my hand. The old BP has been relegated to a backup.
