Hey Salem !!!

Not much going on here...Just wrestled with a 200lb. propane tank...I won and the logs are hot again!!! Gonna need it as the current temp is 15* warmer than tomorrow's high...The local weather guy said winters returning and bringing weapons this go around...I gave him the finger....The first raindrops are hitting the roof....

First I complicate matters by rescuing a little dog...Couple days back I hear loud meowing down by the paint booth...Now I got a black cat...a well fed[now] and happy camper that has taken up in the old dog condo...Spike bout had a dang stroke over that one I'm telling yahh...I kinda dig black cats...now I'm needing a witch too go along with it...

Speaking of the animals....Spike just got the thrill of chasing a deer herd outta the yard...Then there's the Bobcat that visits....that'll likely be the end of black kitteh...the last cat mysteriously disappeared. I seem to live in a wildlife mecca...

Now we got dirty sheets....and three sheets....Dammitt Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wharf and Five must be off on another secret mission.....Busy, busy they are...

I now return you too your regularly scheduled programming....I got dang sheets to wash!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have been here sooner if I'd known there was Greek food. When I was growing up, my mom had a good friend who made us greek cookies every Xmas. Sesame ones twisted into braids, and white powdery ones with nuts inside. Oh, they were so very good. I've never been able to find anything like them in the stores. I guess I should have married into a Greek family...

Oh my god, two of my three favs. The braided one are Kouludia and we'ed sit in the kitchen at Yiayia's and she'd have the stove open and on and we'd dunk them in coffee..... how I miss that.

LOL LD,

Your yard sounds a lot like mine. I have wildlife galore and feed them all. I don't take in cats since I have two parrots but if it were not for them, we would have every stray in town living here too!

Darn, you are not that far from me but, we are not expecting cold weather anytime soon. I wish that we were! Of course you are the other side of the mountains from me and our weather is usually totally different. At least you are ready for the cold though. Just in case they are right this time lol

Well, now that I know what they're called, perhaps I can ask about them at the Greek bakery in Fremont.
I'm sure they won't be as good as the ones I remember. How she could make hundreds of them all shaped perfectly the same baffled me! And they are soo great dipped in coffee...

you have to have a Greek Food Festival in Seattle. They'll have all the cookies and everything I've posted here. I buy 2 or 3 serving of the donut holes. They have hot honey, cinnamon and walnuts on top.... Nom Nom !!!
I guess I'll have to keep my eyes out for a Greek Festival - perhaps at Folklife...There used to be a really good Greek bakery in the U-district, but I haven't been down there in years. Now that you've got me hankering for some kouludia - I may have to make the journey!

I eat oatmeal almost everyday...steel cut oats...with jelly and PB...delicious.
If I eat oatmeal it has to have butter and a dash of milk with splenda. I tried the Steel cut oats. They are hiding in the back of a cabinet awaiting for someone to enjoy. I can't get past the chewy texture. Might try your idea with the PB & Jelly. sounds good.
