It isn't that everybody doesn't deserve healthcare it's just the way they went about getting it and at the cost of stepping on the constitution and it has made job growth almost impossible but alas there's nothing I can do about it so I took rover out of that fight.
I really wished government would let this be a truly free country and let people smoke or vape what they want to. It's okay if they go let people shoot at them and protect us retired old folk but they can't smoke what they want on their off hours.

We got a neighbor like that too Mark. My grandson loves to stop and watch them when I take him on walks. Kinda odd to see them in town. They have tastier eggs than the ones in the stores IMO.

LOL, you would get a kick from being in my area then. I am surrounded by farms where everything roams free. The chickens and guineas are cool to watch though. So are the goats, dogs, horses, cows, etc My one neighbor is an organic farmer. She also sells chicken and turkey that she raises and slaughters. The veggies are good but I just can't bring myself to get the chicken and turkey.

We got a couple people in the city that have llamas in their yards. Animals are too cool I think.

Okay ... here it is ...

Free sent me a chicken to cook for dinner via UPS and they threw it over the gate and the poor chicken was nearly traumatized. The problem with this chicken #1 - is I don't have a gate and #2 was that it was still alive so I did the necessary and scalped it right above the shoulder blades and it did the requisite flopping around as chickens are prone to do.

I knew it would be several minutes before I could start plucking feathers and with all this taking place out in the front yard I decided this was a perfect time to take a nap on my plaid couch in the front yard while I waited. So I did.

Now when chickens find themselves in this unfortunate position you expect them to expire in short order. Right? Right.

Well, after a few minutes I awoke to find a headless chicken with her winds outspread, resting on my belly ... rising and falling with each breath of mine. I thought to myself, this must be a dream or something. Chickens without heads cannot find their way onto my belly and just lay there resting. I laid there looking at this apparition in disbelief when suddenly it let out this indescribable noise that I've never heard emitted by a chicken before in my life. I thought to myself, boy, these Illinois chickens sure do talk funny!

All of a sudden it occurred to me that I was numb with fear and that "fight or flight" instinct kicked in which we have discussed before at some length. so you already know my choice is ... and always will be ... flight. So I left the scene at a high rate of speed ... well, fast for me anyhow. Limping on one leg and hobbling on the other as quickly as possible. I turned and looked behind me to see if I was escaping from this headless horseman chicken and here it came right behind me.

So I ran and jumped on my 4wheeler and took off as fast as I could to get away from this thing and when I figured I had gone far enough I stopped and chuckled to myself ... but wait. I was still hearing chuckling even after I had stopped chuckling! I turned and there was that dag-gone chicken! She was on the rear rack on the 4wheeler and she was chuckling!! Not clucking ... chuckling!

I think that's when I fainted.

Funny story TT!! OMG that story took me right back to my childhood, and the summer I spent at my Aunt and Uncle's farm. (Mom and Dad divorced when I was very young and well Mom had to work so I needed a sitter)

First of all I had better let you all in on the fact that I am a town/city girl born and mostly raised. Don't get me wrong, I loved spending time on that farm. I love animals (all kinds)!! I loved selling the produce roadside. I loved being with my cousins. There are just a few things that I did not like, and some still haunt me to this day. lol

The nasty hens and roosters that'd chase you across the yard!!! I mean they'd full on CHASE YOU!!! I"m talking heart pounding, breaking a sweat, full on sprint across that yard to the front door before those little suckers would catch ya! (hated them!!!)

Then there was the labor.....there was nothing like being chased out into the green bean patch, which I might add was MILES and MILES long, and told not to come out until your baskets were full...on a HOT summer day....with the sun beating down on you. You're out there picking the blasted things thinking "I'm almost done, I'm almost done" only to find your smart ... little cousin (who lives there) is damn near eating them as fast as you're picking them!!! Little BRAT! Of course yoru Aunt thinks it's funny that her little spawn of the devil is ruining your progress and doesn't care if you have to stay in that patch till dark.

And lastly, the chickens. I will never as long as I live ever forget how I felt when I saw my Uncle kill the chickens. Up to that point in my life I truly just thought chicken that we ate came on a styrofoam plate at the grocery store. When he tied them by the feet to the clothesline I thought what the heck is he doin'? What came next Mortified me!!! Just to show us city girls how it's done he released one from the line, so I can verify what TT's saying about a headless chicken running around. It was NUTS! And I wouldn't eat chicken for a long time after that.

Did I tell you I'm still in therapy because of my summer at the farm??? Lol (just kidding about that part)

Chickens...Back in the day one of my Saturday jobs was to catch the hen my Granny selected...Ever the innovator I secured a peach crate, short piece of a tobacco stick, 30 feet of tobacco twine and some corn....I assembled all this into a hen trap...Worked like a charm if the correct hen would go under the crate..Granny wrung their neck and then chopped of their head. Yahh ain't lived until you see all the blood spurting outta that dang chicken......
Just the other day I got into a stink about Monsanto...Genetically engineered foods...Hey I'm not a fan...I got an old buddy with chickens aplenty...Yard birds...I got a couple last fall and grilled 'em on up...Now my neighbor runs a commercial chicken farm...The growth hormones and antibiotics in the chicken's food is unreal...Growth rates are phenomenal....One taste of the yard bird had me thinking what's wrong here???? The taste is nothing like a commercial bird....Much more complex....much more tender...The FDA is worried about vaping but gives not a damn what those chickens are fed....Monsanto products are now illegal in Columbia...The small family farms have all but been replaced by corporate farms...and Monsnato is safe here in the good old USuvA...

Lilac yes I'm saying the Buzz Pro is better than the L-Rider...There is only one mod IMO that stacks up with a Buzz pro and I have one sitting right here...It also cost $169 for a blem model...An L-Rider is no where close....

Any minute now the Animal Welfare should be here for the house...My cousin is a rep for Nutro Animal products...We've talked and if this orginization is up to snuff they will soon be receiving product from Nutro..Now I got a dog in this fight but would never suggest if I didn't firmly believe...Nutro Dog Food is top notch stuff...They also supply Greenies...Getcha self some of both...It's Spike approved!!!!!

We had geese that chased ur kids. When they caught you the would bite your head and ears and beat you with their wings. We wouldn't dare go outside. Then one day my older brother took me outside and put me on my trike and pushed me chasing them geese. From then on whenever we went outside it was a mad dash for the trikes. He had a goat he couldn't catch so he would have us go out and when the goat reared up to .... us with his horns he would have us grab hold until he got close enough to get them.

Lord! I honestly do not know what those chickens would have done to us had they caught us, but I had nightmares for quite some time as a kid. lol

I'd sooner shovel bunny poop out from under the pens than collect eggs in the hen house, any day of the week!!! <---True story!

I hate those emissions rip offs.
I went to get my emissions test today so I can license it. Well they come up with a code that says my fan isn't working so I put a fuse in to fix it and go back. Now they tell me I have to drive it for awhile to reset the computer but that the fan problem was fixed AND that I can pay them another $15.00 plus all the gas and time I've already spent. When I go back I hope they don't tell me I have to stand on one leg and recite the Gettysburg Address backwards or some damn thing.

I don't know what State your in 5Card ... but we don't have anything like that admissions testing here in Texas.

Heck, if they did stuff like that here there wouldn't be anybody on the road. Or ... in the schools.

And out in my home town of New Mexico they even said State vehicle inspections were unconstitutional and don't do that either.

But, I'd be glad to pay $15.00 to see you stand on one leg and recite the Gettysburg Address backwards!! Really!!! I would!!

When I was 14 my Uncle to my cousins and me Duck hunting. I'm a city boy through and through and had never used a shotgun. It was a long day and only saw two ducks and they were too far away.

Well driving back we see some geese in a pond on the side of the road. We sneak up on them, they take flight and I pop one of them. As I'm going to retrieve it a car is heading down the road toward us (it's illegal to hunt next to the road here). My uncle yells get in the car and I hope in back with my goose.

He speeds out of there and I'm sitting there with this goose on my lap when all of a sudden the goose lifts his head and quacks at me. I'm FREAKED out, this goose I just killed is staring me in the eye and quaking !!!!

My uncle says ring it's neck, I asked how and he told me to turn it's head. So I start turning... and turning.. and turning 7 or 8 times. When I let go it's head spins all the way back around, looks me in the eye again and QUACKS !!! I'm screaming, my cousins are screaming so my uncle finally pulls over and rings the damn goose.

That ended my hunting days !!!
