Good afternoon Sdh!!! I think I would gag or vomit too now if I had to smoke a cig. Shoot, I could almost do that now just smelling it on a smoker. Wretched things!!

I enjoy my vaping too TT. It's wonderful!
Hope you eye is better! BTW I believe in alternative medicine rather than pharmaceutical drugs. Dh doctor has threatened him numerous times about his statin drug non use. He passed out on Lipitor. I would say it caused an adverse drug action. Then they tried him on simvastin and he ended up with Parkinson type symptoms. He was very upset with the drooling. Can you imagine going to work and drooling? Of course his doctor denied that the drug caused these events. I know from being a nurse she is so full of crap! I even had him on q10 with the statin. He still takes the q10 which is very important with taking any type of statin drug. Drug companies and doctors go hand in hand. I spend allot of time researching for the hubs.

I have a problem with some Drs. and their pill pushing myself. One thing I always remind myself is that my Dr. is my employee! He works for me. he gets paid for his advice and time. I don't have even the tiniest problem firing a Dr. that is hard to talk to, or doesn't take the time to understand all my medications. I interview before I choose a primary care Dr.

I love the primary Dr I have right now, he listens, takes my opinions seriously, and doesn't get all puffed up if I disagree with any meds or treatments. He also backs my vaping 110% :) It's very important these days to be pro active in your own health care.

Hey I found the 'food babe" on FB...Very informative.....

All the changes in the weather here lately????? Last night I ventured out @3am...It was still very windy but the sky was clearing...The low level clouds were racing by under the moonlight...Quiet an impressive sight....It's still windy and now it's cold as well....

I shun all medication...My sinuses are giving me grief today...Just enough of a headache to be ill as a rattlesnake...Pseudoephedra gets me all jacked up...I'll pass on that...Once I went to a Doc after taking a pseudo and he wanted me to go on BP meds...That's been a few years back...No meds needed then nor now....Big Pharma musta been pushing BP meds that week...I got a saline rinse bottle and a machine sorta like a water pic...I use RO filtered water and whatever is in those packets to rinse...I may be rinsing here in a minute....

Smoking was once my true love...Now when exposed to second hand for long enough I get queezy....That gonna hurl if I don't get some oxygen really soon...Cigarettes fekkin' SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon...well morning for me. It is a cloudy 14.0 degrees right now.
My first kit was a ego. I did move on. :) I really wasn't planning on quitting but I did. However, I am human and I have cheated a few times. I don't take it as failure because I know what I am doing. However, I am to the point I would vomit if I had to smoke a cig...so that is really good.
I feel if a person is smoking 1 less stinky than they were yesterday then it's not a failure.

One good thing about living here with the weather is if you don't like it stick around. It changes every 15 min. Either cloudy with rain, sunny with rain, windy with rain, snowing with rain and then there is raining with rain. Somethind for everyone.

I like my doc. He says what do you want? I tell him and he writes out the prescription. If it's something I don't know about he sends me to a specialist but he is also a very good Dr.. Very intelligent and stays informed on the advancements in medicine.

why would i need to take q 10 if i take simvistatin? what does it do? i presume you are talking about co q 10.
Here is just something simple to explain. What happens to some people it can cause muscle damage. The heart is a major muscle. Other countries promote using q10 with statin use. YMMV but I personally would never take a statin without it. DH cannot tolerate the statins anyway. We are using other alternative methods to reduce his cholesterol.

I did talk to a woman on FB who started a group because her husband died from statin therapy. For most people they can tolerate these drugs. However, for some it's not the case.

Oops! I forgot to congratulation Toto! Yeah girl! You did good :)

My eye is sooooo much better, thanks for asking and for your help Sdh! Appreciate it! Ya know, my Dad is on that Simvastin and gets the shakes real bad, I wonder if that could be why? Hey, I'm going to look into it. I'm also going to ask him if he takes any q10's. Problem is my Dad takes SO MUCH stuff already. Maybe I'll have him call his doc and inquire about it. Thanks again Sdh, you rock!

I hear ya on the pill pushers Bov! Ya take a pill for one thing, and it causes something else, so then ya gotta take something for that, which then causes something else. It's a vicious cycle! Not to mention I have a cousin who's doc left her on a certain antibiotic for far too long and now has a chronic lung disease. She's younger than me and totes around oxygen wherever she goes. Takes a few steps, has to stop and gasps for air. Terrifying!!!
I'll look for natural whenever possible, thank you very much! :)

Q-10 is a supplement and can be obtained online or even at wally world. IDK if doctors recognize the side effects of statin therapy. It is something to look into. If you need help researching and filtering thru documentsI would be more than happy to help. I am working this weekend so time is limited. Dh had the shakes as well.

Thank you! You've been very sweet to offer these suggestions, and I will definitely be looking into it. My Dad has neuropathy, from years of alcohol abuse and when I say he's on SO MUCH stuff, I'm not kidding. Nerve meds, anti anxiety meds, blood pressure meds, choloesterol meds, Lyrica for leg pain, and I'm sure I'm missing a few as well. (and he STILL drinks!) Makes me crazy. I love him but he's the polar opposite of me....he takes a pill for everything, even the slightest sniffle. I always tell him "you can't just take something because you see it on tv, not with everything else you already take, please call the doc and clear it with him first"....but what do I know. lol

I know what you mean. My step pop enjoyed way too many adult beverages. I had one uncle who committed suicide from a drunken rage. The other uncle died from cirrhosis of the liver at age 42. I am so glad I don't drink. However, I do have empathy for those who cannot stop.
