Good morning Fran and Lilac!

The driving lesson went very well. This is the child who never liked being shown how to do much of anything. That and she's the one with the smartest mouth to boot! So Mama told her before we left, "I have 2 requests of you....LISTEN to everything I tell you, and NO MOUTH! If you get smartazzy to me just once, the lesson is over and we will not have another for quite awhile." Worked like a charm!

Believe me I do get the shakes, the nightmares, the sweats, and everything else mentioned above. I just have to keep my cool, because just as I was watching her take her first steps, it's something that I cannot do FOR her, but offer guidance and watch her blossom. *sniff sniff*

Another baby growing up!

Thank you Lilac!

Her dad let her drive a couple of times. The last time he let her drive the rest of the way to our house, she had trouble making a sharp turn, and wound up on the sidewalk in front of my house!!! (in his new SUV!) Notice I said that was the LAST time her Dad let her drive? Well, that really rattled her confidence, so we are taking things very slowly. ;)

Good morning, Fran and anyone else who stops by. I am waiting on the snow we are supposed to get this morning. I know some of you are tired of winter, but we don't get much snow and I am still just kid enough to love it.

Snow!!!???

Gosh, we're having another 70 degree day with copious amounts of sunshine.

Granddaughter and I had a great time going out and riding our 4wheelers yesterday and we're going to be going out in a few minutes and do it all over again. My son, his darling wife and my beautiful granddaughter are leaving in the morning (Monday). Son has an appointment in Okla City he has to get to and then I think they are going home from there. We're going to miss them, its really been fun having them here.

So I guess tomorrow I'll be getting back on here regularly and enjoying El Dee's post about 300 mph dog leashes striking him between the eyes! Poor guy!

My dd leaves tomorrow again for college TT, so I can sympathize with ya. I just hope the weather holds out so she has safe travels.

mod, I would have loved for my dd's to have more experience with driving, unfortunately they don't allow 4 wheelers in town so the only prior experience they have to driving consists of Mario Cart on wii. In fact that's what my dd blamed her sidewalk incident on! Seems she thought by whipping that steering wheel to the right hard enough like she does on wii, would get the job done. Yup, she has a ways to go yet, but at least we've begun!!

Poor ElDee!!! Getting smacked between the eyes with a leash sounds more than a little painful!!!

Thanks for clearing that up Tracy...TT getting me and Wharf confused....Worse things have happened....

Being raised on a farm has its advantages...Tractors for one...I started @5 pulling a tobacco drag{trailer} through the field...When experience was gained they turned me loose from the field too the barn...This could be a couple of miles or a couple of feet depending...I was 8 when I got my first motorcycle....My Uncle NA just passed on 12/31/12...His addiction too alcohol and needing a ride too the local bootlegger allowed many opportunities to drive...He even gave me a '59 Chevy Impala when I was around 10/11...I wore that thing out driving around the fields like a madman...What I would give to still have that Impala....By the time I'd turned 16 I was wheeling the farm's big trucks down the highway...I would be delivering tobacco too the Smithfield market one day and heading too the port in Wilmington picking up fertilizer the next...Those were the days...Now most everyone has passed away and the farm was sold off...All that's left are the memories....

Dee, I have lots of memories, having grown up on a cotton and soybean farm. I was driving smaller tractors by the time I was about 10, riding and getting to steer the combine or cotton picker too. Lots and lots of dirt roads for that old Rambler station wagon to travel when I was turned loose in that car :)

Lilac, I used to love and look forward to the snow too, having lived most of my life in the south. I've just have enough for the rest of my life after 5 years in Maine, and now the last 3 years here in CT!

Tracy, I admire your nerves of steel LOL! Howdy TT and everone!

Baltimore but they just lost half the lights in the Superdome. Reminds me of Dandy Don singing Turn out the lights, The parties over at the end of the old NFL games.

It's 28 Baltimore 6 San Francisco and Baltimore started the second half with the longest kickoff return in NFL history. 109 yards.

Hiya gang. My family that was here visiting left early this morning. Granddaughter and I rode 4wheelers all day Saturday and had an absolutely good time "mudding" each other when we could and exploring the deep woods behind our house. Sunday we rode for a little while then went to the lake house and fished and visited with other family.

Later in the day we watched the Super Bowl and I think even the women enjoyed that game. After they lost electricity (I think they must use the same power company as we use) the game became very exciting.

We had a nice visit and I got lots of pics of my granddaughter, but now, I'm back.

And El Dee, I'm sorry for confusing you with Wharf Rat ... or did I confuse Wharf Rat with El Dee?? I love being old and not able to remember much. It saves me a lot of apologizing!

Then I get another call.....Frame off restoration...70 Chevelle SS 396 and a one owner as well....That's gonna take some time...I gotta go look see and hammer out the deal-E-ohH...That sounded good!!!! Then I get a call from an independent collision center...Owner claims to be laid back....Says he doesn't mind if I work on my own sheet when times are slack....What???? Slack????? Hustle or Die....Hustlers don't ever have enough time in a day....and HEY NOW....Defining yourself as laid back...or anything for that matter...It's like peeps who claim to be drama free....Get my drift???? If you gotta say it probably it ain't true....I may go down and check him out....key word being ....may....Then I get another call last evening...This offer sounds as if it'll pan out really good...Guys I've worked with in the past and chomping the bit for me to come by.....Looks like @ 55 miles from the crib though....Through some heavily congested areas as well.....I'm going tomorrow at 1 pm...I don't hold much hope for that as fuel is high and I believe it'll be a trip you won't wanna make daily....Still I'm gonna try....It's nice to have options....

Well El Dee ... nobody has called me offering me any kind of a job and I'm sooo thankful for that!

After my two experiences with working ... getting fired from Whatsthatburger after working there for a whole week and then getting fired after working only one day at the Sewage Treatment Plant next door to the house, I was real disgusted with working and the rat race.

That's when I became an entrepreneurial individual and branched out on my own. I started that real nice Lemonade Stand about a mile from the house up there on the paved road until that Green Beret or Girl Scout or whatever the heck she was came along and beat me up and took my Lemonade Stand off me.

That's when I retired from working. Since then I've lived on my wife working up in town at the Lube Rack, Sociable Securities, and from riding around up in town late at night looking to see what people have left laying around out in their yard that I guess they don't want any more then I have Yard Sales.

It sure beats driving 55 miles through heavily congested areas to get to work.
