Sunny and 50ish here right now. I'm not going to look at he forecast until I've had my enjoyment from this beautiful day!

Went into the setup on the other computer and it is set to boot from the HDD, I removed the external one, and still get the root>\system32\hal.dll error. I went through all the boxes in the basement looking for the win7 disks and nada. Guess I'll just leave it alone, but the Ms. Fixit in my brain needs to be sedated

If you can get into DOS you can try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833. Alternatively, you can try this: How to Repair Windows Root System32 Hal .Dll | eHow.com.

It's been so long since I've used DOS I don't remember how to even get to it without Windows being open. What about downloading the missing .dll onto a thumb drive and adding it that way?

Wharf, you sound mighty happy about your early morning meeting ;)

Afternoon Sdh, and everyone!
That may work to if you can get access to the system32 folder. If you can get it to boot in safe mode (hitting F8 on boot) you could get into DOS that way. Another option is to create a Linux Live CD which should give you access to the file system on the HDD to replace the missing dll.

Bov I'm like you, weekends are made for sleeping (unlike TT's boss, my boss frowns upon napping during work) so getting up at 4:45 on a Saturday is just against everything I believe in :)

... and yes :)

Well, I've been working hard lately getting my Lemonade and Psychiatric Consulting Stand all fixed up to take up to the paved road and start making some big money! But no 6 a.m. staff meetings ... mainly because I'm the staff and I ain't up yet.

LOL, that backwoods brew I add to the Lemonade sure makes it a big hit with all those workaholics going by in their little Prius's on their way home from work. Help's them forget the travails of the day (I don't know what that means, but it sure sounds good!!!) and by the time they get to the little town on up the road their ready to wrastle alligators like Troy Landers over there in Louisiana.

Then if they drink enough Lemonade and start talking about doing silly things like wrastling alligators or arguing with their wives, I open my Psychiatric Consultation office and start making some big bucks!

I love to work!

Good morning fellow workaholics and all you snow shovelers.

For those of you up north who haven't been told yet ...

its going to snow.

Oh, that reminds me. I need to get out there and start mowing my lawn here pretty quick. Its starting to look raggedy. I guess I need to get up and go look for my suntan lotion. I think I might have left it near that plaid couch out in the front yard in the weeds by the bass boat.

And I really need to wear my sunglasses when I go out there, but I'm not going to mention why out of respect for all the snow shovelers.

I've got sooooo much to do today! I really need to get outside and pet my dogs and I guess I ought to take my empty coffee cup downstairs to the kitchen.

Busy, busy, busy!!!

I love to work.
