Good morning early birds lilac and Tracy!!! And all you late risers and workaholics, good morning to you too!!!
Hope all of you have a great day.
I have a big day planned. Breakfast and then up to the Coffee shop to see what the old men are up to then over to the Feed Store to pick up on the latest rumors in town then over to the Hardware store and talk to the chubby lady with a mustache.
Then back to the house and it will be time for a nice nap out on my plaid couch in the front yard in the weeds by the bass boat.
In East Texas, everyone has an old couch either on the porch or out in the yard. Its kind of a status symbol I think. I can go out there and take a nap anytime with my dogs, my lawn mowing goat, my stinky piggy, the two drunks - the pet wombat and pet armadillo. We all gang up on the couch and just take us a nice ol' nap. I love to snuggle!!!
And I can sleep in peace in the knowledge that Wharf Rat is back at work today paying into my Sociable Securities and keeping me out of the work force!

My first year in Little League we got stuck with the last uniforms remaining...Actually the uniform was a hat and t-shirt,,,Green and yellow....Oakland Athletics...I remain a fan until this day and yes they are in first place and on a tear...We won the Championship that year and picked uniforms first the next year...Green was gone and replaced by red...St. Louis Cardinals....40 years hence...I roll with StL and the A's..San Fran Pfffffftttttt!!!!!!!!!
I was hoping to wake up to news of an arrested bomber.......
My plans for the summer were to build a shelter for my trailers, boats and trucks....It will be rather large....The shady side of the yard had a pecan tree stump that had to go...I dug up the sister stump 2 summers back....My Uncle came by one day as I was shoveling...He was on the way too the gym...Told me I was beating my head against a wall....I asked how much gym membership was per month...He answered and then I pushed the shovel on him...My gym is free...and when you finish you get rewards...Like no stump in the middle of the yard....Wish me luck I'm going in......

Thanks Mark and Tracy. We're far from done. All the top cabinets have to go in,the flooring etc. etc.

I would LOVE all of that counter space. Get this, my kitchen is 16 x 27 (huge) with a center island (very old though) and aside from that island which has become plop central and has no electrical outlets, my only counter space is about 5 feet, and that INCLUDES the sink!!!! Plthhhhhhhhhh!! Very poorly designed for all the available space.

Looking great Fran! This house was built in the '40s and MIL never redid the kitchen. There is very little counter space, and MIL had the dishwasher taken out so she could have more cupboard space. I rarely even try to cook here. Marie Calender and I eat together frequently
