Since I have become almost exclusivly a 'juicer' instead of buying prefilled cartos, i find my autos are acting up a lot more. Turning on by themselves, not stopping when I have, dying, etc.
I try to be extra careful, never filling a cart when it's on the batt, blowing out the extra juice, cleaning, etc. But it's becoming a PITA.
So when I saw that camo green xtra long manual batt, I thought,'Maybe it's time to go back'.
So I hope these issues will become a thing of the past. I saw a ecf ad briefly advertising a 'sealed' auto. Would a sealed auto batt eleminate my problems? if so I hope V4L has one in the works :)

Thanks all, I'm afraid that I'm a blasted 'overfiller', if 5 drops are good than 10 would be better, right?
I don't apply that warped logic to any other part of my life, ( for the most part ), but for some reason I do on filling cartos...
Oh man maybe it's time to get the scarey syringe out again:confused:

That's pretty much the advice I was going to throw out. I'm back to strictly manuals, so it's not as big of a deal, but I had a heck of a time with filling with the proper amount until I switched to syringe filling. What a difference that has made! I only over fill when I'm dripping to top off and I'm in a hurry, and not even often when I do that. Everyone finds a method they like, even the dreaded condom fill for some, and for me it's syringe all the way.

:laugh::laugh: We might be twins, girlfriend . . . I KNOW to just drip until the polyfill is "slushy, but not wet", yet I cannot resist adding just one or two more teensy drops when the carto reaches that point . . . which then promptly ooze out of the bottom, of course!

Because I'm lazy I suppose, I've reached the point where I only use syringes the very first time I fill a blank cart. After that, it's strictly drip-drip-ooze! :D

For what it's worth, I fill cartos with a syringe: fill them up juicy full, then pull back the plunger to withdraw the extra juice. Quick and brainless, that's me. Been doing this for a year with zero juice-related batt probs. I use only manuals.

I know your way is the best, smartest way, but I really hate needles and the first time I got mine I stabbed myself, hard, in my thumb. But maybe next time I'll take a 'happy pill' before I do, and hey, if I stab myself again I won't care :D

That's the spirit, plant! Technique will improve over time. I stabbed my hand twice the first time I pulled off the plastic needle cover. I used too much force and when it came off I jerked my hand toward the needle. Bad reflexes on my part!

I usually refill in increments of five and up to thirty cartos at a time. It takes me too long to drip all that juice!

First time I filled, I was terrified of using a syringe, and tried with a blunt needle. I made such a mess !!! Almost put me off the whole notion of filling my own cartos, and Wowboy Peppermint: the whole house reeked of it! Apart from the occasional little messy accident, I have become a lot slicker at it. Still haven't stabbed myself (touch wood), even though I have an intention tremor that makes the process look very dangerous
