Oh the thing about Ebay?
I wouldn't think of going to Ebay for vaping stuff, I'd rather go to a proper vaping shop be it online or offline.
Still there goes Ebay being told what to do like brainless lefties
This is nothing new and it's been a part of eBay's Terms of Service for several years now. It has nothing to do with government involvement... just eBay's internal policy to avoid having to deal with tobacco related products and regulation. It's easier for them to prohibit sales of related items than deal with Regulatory boloney. Since they own PayPal the same policy applies for US based companies only...
eBay is just very inconsistent on enforcement for US based users... technically you can buy/sell e-cigarette gear as long as it doesn't contain any nicotine, but you also can't use the word cigarette or any reference to tobacco, smoking cessation nor health claims in the product descriptions.
Try to sell a kidney on ebay. They'll jump all over that one.![]()
This is just another example of the government (and this administration) overstretching its power in order to influence the market and the people in it.
This is not the first time that it has happened and it wont be the last, but it is still disgusting.
There is actually another thread that talks about the many other instances of this happening, maybe someone with a better memory will come along and link it... Bill G maybe of Kent C
How so? Please explain how the evil administration forced E-bay to create this policy. It's an extension of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. "But this isn't tobacco," screams the chorus. WE decided that it WAS tobacco to avoid falling under fda jurisdiction the last time around. Thus, can't be sold on E-bay. Now this has been the policy of e-bay for a long time, and this story circulates ever couple of months, and still there are thousands of e-cig related items on e-bay. Everything is gonna be OK, all you e-bay shoppers.
Now if eventually, "they" ban online sales for E-cigs entirely, then we can all start up the bonfires.
Just for giggles, I just did an ebay search using only the word "vapor." 135,651 results, and everything on the first ten pages was e-cig related. that's where I stopped looking. if you can't find what you are looking for in those 135,651 items, it's probably not because of a policy. I peeked at the other thread as well, so I also did a quick search using the word "Kanger." 8,748 results. We good?
I keep hearing this don't buy on eBay chant.
In my experience many of the eBay sellers have actual physical stores. This is true whether I am buying vape gear, guitar stuff or Christmas toys for the kids.
I personally don't care whether Bubba is selling product off his wife's belly in the wood shed. Good price, good service and product selection are what's important when I am making purchases.
The government wielding powers not delegated by the people and NOT backed by the rule of law is what is concerning me, and should you too. Not whether Bubba meets your personal criteria as a preferred seller.
