Regarding the visiting smokers, the enclosed porch is fine for analogs, but you could offer
them a vape indoors. Your ego carts / cartos are 510 and would fit a couple cheap 510
automatic batteries, (they would also serve as a backup for you :))

If the smokers could experience how little they missed the analogs if even for a couple
hours it might help. I was also a heavy smoker, "quitting" for more than 2 hrs was tough for me.
I offered a 510 /carto Jager-bomb, and a Hopscotch to a couple of smokers this weekend and
they are now interested in more information. No preaching necessary, just offer an inviting
alternative.

Wow!!! Love this idea

Hi Wendy
your story is very inspirational I know what you mean about the guilt but just remember your doing a good thing not only for yourself but for your child as well.
When your around your family members that smoke that's a good opportunity to introduce them to vaping and to give your testimonial. I've turned both of my parents on to vaping and I'm so proud of them for doing so.
I'm never pushy about the e-cigs I just answer their questions and tell them how vaping changed my life.

Congrats to you Wendy!

What a great Christmas present you gave to your self and your kids:) Your lungs will improve pretty quickly. I smoked for 30 yrs and noticed a huge improvement when I would lay down for bed. I didn't breathe huffy/loudly anymore!

Just find the right juice and the right strength and it'll be an easy road for you. I got my co-worker to try it a month ago. He has smoked for 47 yrs (2 packs a day of Marlboro Reds)! He loves his vaper so much that he gave away his last 2 cartons of cigs! He TRIED to smoke a cig a couple weeks ago and had to put it out because it tasted like crap compared to his Ecig. He called me yesterday to tell me he gave one of his Riva kits to his sister and she loves his LF Double Mint juice and is going to convert too.

So stock up on different strength juice and different flavors. It's good to have a "Oh %$#@ -911!!!!" bottle of juice with you at all times too. I vape 15mg juice and my "Oh %$#@ -911!!" bottle of juice is 24 mg. When things get scary at work or my husband stresses me out, I use that 24mg juice to calm down. I only needed it a few times in the first month but it saved me from myself. ( cigs are in the house). If money is tight, you can always do the DIY nic juices and vape for a few cents a day like I do.

Please come here and ask us anything! Good luck and keep on vaping! Get the sample size juices and find some you love. Madvapes, Liberty-Flights, VaporBomb, VaporsEtc and FreedomSmokeUSA all sell affordable samples.

Welcome to ECF and Merry Christmas!

Congrats on giving up the cigs and resisting the urges, it gets easier the longer you vape.

This is exactly what I'm going to do for our NY party. If someone wants to 'smoke' inside, they are more than welcome to use my extra gear. If not, out to the porch they go.

Weather man says it's going to be frigid well into next week, so I bet I have a bunch of takers on the indoor option. ;)

Evenin' everyone. I hope you're all well. Thanks so much for all the support and kind words!! And for all the wonderful advice and ideas!

I had kind of a rough day. I think returning from the 'bubble' of the holidays back into the stress of reality hit me harder than I had expected, BUT, I'm still smoke free. So, yay for me and yay for all of us attempting this crazy cutting back/ quitting challenge! I'm so excited by your suggestions. I've already orderd a little more juice. Or, a moderate amount. Ok, ok. A lot. But, really, if I don't try out multiple strengths in 15 flavors I think I might like how will I ever know?!?! Yeah ... I may have gone overboard for a beginner. Still, I CAN'T WAIT for them to get here. Amazing suggestions about social gatherings with my smoker friends also! I never would have thought to keep extra gear around for them, but that's such an awesome idea! Save everyone the discomfort and maybe get them interested in PVs all at once. Clever!

Anyhow, I'm still feeling good. I'm breathing better, (GREAT!), my sense of smell seems more potent, (not so great with pull ups and cat boxes), and my determination remains intact. All in all, not a terrible 4th day.

Thank you all again soooo much!! You guys are amazing and I'm lucky to have your support and advice!!

~Wendy

Congrats and welcome, Wendy!

The suggestion about PVs to offer your guests is a great one! Blank cartos filled with economically purchased juice may be inexpensive enough to be considered as party favors, so no one has to get each other's germs or anything. :D Personally I didn't have this problem because I always huddled outside in rain, sleet or snow along with any smokers who may be visiting.

The first few days is the hardest, it all gets easier from here. Remember that cigarettes contain like over several bazillion chemicals or something, besides nicotine. You're still getting nic but you may be detoxing from some other things. As long as you have enough supplies ready to go, it will most likely just get easier and easier all the time.

Congrats on your 3rd day analog free Wendy!!! You made it longer than I did in the beginning. It wasn't until my 3rd week that I finally was able to totally kick the nix, and that was because my nic level wasn't high enough to conquer the cravings. But at 24mg...I was off and running :) Oh...and don't feel bad about buying a lot of different flavors from a lot of different vendors...I shutter when I think about how much I've invested in juices at this point...lol. However, its been so much fun waiting for my mail to come and then trying each new one out that I believe it has been a part of what kept my mind off of cig's! What I ended up doing after I found the juices that became my favorites was to give some of them away to my friends who I turned on to vaping and ended up buying a pv for themself! I have not only quit smoking cigarettes, but found a new hobby as well (just purchased a new pv and super excited for it to get here!!) Again....congrats Wendy, welcome to the forum and we look forward to your future posts! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS!!!!

Congrats Wendy.

I always smoked outdoors/never in the house and all my smoking friends were used to that anyway so not a problem. However, when I first started vaping a couple months ago I would simply step outside with the "group" and vape while they smoked. I think it helped in a comple ways. I learned that I could be open and social about my new activity; and at the same time my friends (smokers) saw that vaping fit right in with the social circle and made things seem like I was not alienating myself from them just because I no longer smoked. I think this let them accept my vaping not smoking more quickly and also got a couple of them interested enough to get starter kits.
