because it really doesnt sound that hard at all, so i cant see a) where i'm going wrong or b) how it can be this hard.

i rinsed the vision intact-> popped the tube off -> rinsed the wicks, cups, stem etc -> let it dry for a good day (i'm paranoid about getting my SB connector wet, so shoot me) -> screwed it onto my SB when i had a new batt in there.... dry burned for like 4-6 second bursts, read a few posts, dry burned again -> noticed the gunk seemed to be ashing -> started scraping (GENTLY) the ash off with the syringe that came with my ce2s -> repeated past 2 steps till i saw shiny coil -> gave a few extra dry burns to make sure (like 3-4 shorties) to guarantee there was no more ash -> slid on my tube-> single dripped, filled, waited a bit, gave it another small drip -> capped and took a haul.

its still not anywhere near as clean (vape flavor) as it was originally. theres an undertone of burnt... which is probably not helped by expresso cupcake but its definately not just that flavor thats causing this taste. Would soaking (either before the dry burn or after and then a re dry) in a mostly water with a small amount of vodka help with this (obviously rinsing profusely after) i wont use pure vodka like i do with my attys, cause of the wires, but theres gotta be something i'm missing. my coil was really gunked and i didnt really scrape the sides cause i'm a scaredy cat and syringe needles dont give you 100% control of movement.

help! please! i love these, but the feeling of being in a smoke pit when i'm vaping in a smoke free environment is getting to me.

I dont have vinegar in my house, because the smell of it honestly makes me physically ill (not puking, but i'm curled up in a ball) so i dont want to even think of using that

please help
tia

I usually let them soak in hot water for a while prior to doing a burn. Did you burn it till the coils glowed red? Make sure when you do the dry burn that you have a pretty fresh battery.

How long was the CE2 in use before you decided to clean it? I've found that with darker/thicker juices, they tend to require more frequent cleaning. If it's really gunked up, you may want to rinse, soak, and repeat. I will also squirt water from the base up thru the air tube using a syringe after the initial burn, this helps clean the under side of the coil.

i just pop tube, rinse off with water, dry a bit with paper tower and dry burn, I burn in like 4-5 sec bursts and keep doing it like 20 times to make sure its good and burned, I usually don't scrape anything, thats just asking to ruin the coil. sometimes i have good luck, other times not so good. depends on what you use too. I'm about to stop using cinnamon again because all it does it gunk the coils very fast. with menthol I have much better luck.

I used a fresh batt in my SB, as stated, i got the coils shiny after my dry burn, although it took 15 glow burns to get it that way. I only put a tank and a half (drained it to half, topped up) in this vision the first time, did a fail dry burn and then put 3/4 through it after that. would a small amount of vodka in the soak water aid in the cleaning process at all?
I'm honestly totally stumped, i've read all the posts about dry burning, including 2 pms about it, and followed the instructions to a t. most of my liquid isnt sweetened, and if it is, only very lightly so and its only 30% vg. I mean, it did get it clean enough to be vapable, and one ml in the gungy flavor that was a remnant of the dry burn is gone, but i want to irradiucate that all together

Your Dry Burn tech doesn't sound bad.

BUT. After I dry burn I like to rinse/dry the atomizer wire again. If you just fill it after a dry burn, the first 10 or 12 hits kinda taste burnt. The burnt taste fades but mentaly I can still taste it long after it is probably gone.

Another hot tip is to GENTLY brush the "gunk" off the coil at every refill with a Dentek Brush.

Here is my clean & dry burn technique that I hope to post in a video sometime this week, also, I do this to my Fluxos right out the package before using them. I had one that had something in it once, primer, flux, I didn't know & told myself I should make it a routine anyway.

First I soak in the cheapest vodka I can find for 5-10 minutes disassembled but I throw the tube in there along with whatever drip tips or other vaping toys I need cleaned, I then dip it in distilled water, you can use tap water but I don't have to worry about hard water, fluoride, or who knows what else comes out the tap, pat dry the wicks, OK, sounds like the usual routine,

I then use a BBQ lighter to burn my wicks dry to the point I can see the wicks glowing. I don't heat the center cup, the induction of heat will dry that area out. Your wicks might look a little silvery, and will be a little stiff, hence they are now clean. (If you look at a Fluxomizer fresh out the package you may notice they look that color too.)

Let them sit for a few minutes, blow any moisture out of the tube. Install on your battery. In my case I use my ProVari & set it too 3.3 volts, I hit the button, and in a 3 second burst my coils are glowing like new. Wait 10 seconds to cool & do another 3-5 second burn, by this time I can't see any crud on the coil. Reassemble, fill & vape. Takes a few minutes longer than the speed clean but I have done this on the same Fluxomizer for 2 weeks now. I also use some 100% VG juice & I do this before every refill when I do use it.

The main reason I go through all this is because I'm able to get a consistency of flavor like when they are new.

Hope this helps & I hope to have the vid up hopefully before the end of the week.

Thanks for the BBQ lighter tip. I've tried using a regular cigarette lighter, but had problems with carbon coating the wicks. I'll give the BBQ one a try. BTW, I have a few CE2s that have been going for 6 months. I have no idea how many times I've dry burned them. The flavor is a little degraded -- maybe 90% of what it was, but they're still working acceptably. The durability of these things is awesome!

I forgot to add, that the BBQ lighter I use, I got from the Home Depot. It's a Benzo-Matic, and puts out a flame like a micro-torch another feature it has is an LED light & gooseneck adjustment. I'm sure that this is what gets my wicks glowing. Here's the link. Hope this helps.

@ames001 Make sure to thoroughly rinse after the vodka soak, not just the wicks but the whole unit before attempting any dry burns, you don't want a little fire in the palm of your hands. Good luck & be careful.

I can't find the post (not that I am trying all that hard), but the best I advice I saw was just to throw them away and order more. Really, now that they are what, $5-ish per, I can sail through one a week, skip a lunch somewhere, and I am golden. I have tried boiling them in vodka, dry burning them while they are pointed north on a night with a full moon and Venus is visible on the horizon, even casting an ancient spell on the cartos. They work great for a few days. That's it. They're disposable.

Really, I have given up. The good news about a Vision is that its juice consumption is so much lower than the Flux that the darn thing is basically free if you factor in juice cost.

i'm used to consuming a ml of juice a day, and getting at minimum 2 weeks out of a 9 dollar atty. i get one fill out of a ce2 and just over that for a vision before they're totally gunked. honestly, if i was spending 10.50 a day on vaping, i'd be better off smoking.

thats before waiting 2 weeks for stuff to come in in the mail too

there must be a way to get it to come totally clean, as others have posted as such. I had figured from dry burn #1 that it would make more sense to re wash it, but didnt see that step anywhere, and i was to weary to do my customary vodka soak and rinse/boil cause i didnt know if it would harm the wires etc. i will let them dry instead of using a lighter though, i dont fancy having to ask my boyfriend to hold my ce2s/visions while i attack them with fire :p

Your welcome, I was trying to make it quick but I rambled on, yada yada yada. 19 minutes was pretty long & I didn't even vape it. Oh, the horror.

One thing I'd like to mention about that utility lighter, I was at the Home Depot to get more butane to refill it. I read the package and on the metal end of the lighter is a loop, which I thought was for hanging it up, doubles as a bottle opener. Wow, the guys who did the design for this thing must have been doing research by a BBQ grill. Talk about convenience.
