Guys... I killed my favorite battery! :( I think what happened was that my leads either got crossed (I rebuild my kanger coils) or made contact with something they shouldn't have, shorted, and killed it. Whatever happened, it seems to be well and truly dead. It acts like it is charging when I plug it in (button light comes on, blinks, charger lights up red, eventually turns green, and the button light goes off), but once I take it off the charger it won't turn on, won't fire, and the button doesn't light up when pressed anymore.

Worst part is, it was 1 of 2 VV ego-style batteries I had. Now I'm down to 1 VV and 4 small fixed voltage egos, 2 of which were on their last legs when I got my VVs (they were my starter batteries). SO, I need to replace it. (And be more careful when clipping my leads!!!)

I could get another VV like the one I still have, but I'm really interested in the eleaf istick and was thinking of getting one next anyway. (Better battery life would be great, would love to try VW, would really like a device with a built-in ohms checker so I don't have to keep swiping husband's, etc...) Unfortunately, I missed the sale on them at ecig.com last weekend, and that price was about the limit of what I currently have to spend. I wasn't expecting to need to replace a battery so soon... I just got my VVs a couple months ago. :( Anyone know who has the next-best price on the isticks? Any other suggestions in my price range? Commiseration?

Consider it a blessing and opportunity to pick up the iStick. Love mine - they really are not much bigger than eGo style and really, to me, feel much better in the hand. You won't be disappointed and there are too many people who would agree to think seriously otherwise. :)

I love the size/ form factor with the isticks, too!

and btw, that Ecig.com special sold out so quickly because that price was crazy. IMO they are still easily worth the going 30-40 dollar price. Check out world of vape. Theyve become my heroes.

Oh, trust me, I know it was. :/ Hence why I'm so sad I missed it... and looking for the next lowest price. I agree that it's worth the $30-40, I just don't have it right now, so I'm looking for another good deal like that. ;) Thanks for the recommendation for world of vape-- that's a vendor I hadn't seen before. They are completely out of stock on isticks though. :(

Did you try the 5 click on/off for that dead one?

Time to get an OHM tester to test your coils b4 installing?

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, before putting it on the charger. It doesn't respond. :( Most annoying thing is, I looked up the product description and this battery is supposed to have short circuit protection.

I think the coil short happened between wick-rinsings-- I do check all of my coils on an ohm reader right after building them, and this one had performed fine on that battery for about a day and a half before it stopped working. (As I said, I want a device with built-in ohm reading so I can stop swiping husband's when I need to build coils.)

I think what happened with this one is I accidentally left just a tiny bit of the leads exposed between the insulator and the metal post and they caught in the threads and got twisted when I screwed the head in/ out of the tank base, causing a short.

Sometimes the short protection means that it keeps the battery from getting super hot and scaring the crap outa ya. Maybe vent. Been there, ain't fun. But it's like blowing an irreplaceable fuse- it saved your ...., but it's done-for now.

Next cheapest thing I'd go for would be the popular Innokin VV-V3. Got Ohms reader and watts.

    Hang in there..............
