This has been a bad start...

Just got my starter kit this morning. Ego x6S from fast tech.

Noticed a weird little plastic ring inside, right near the bottoms of the clearomizers. Since that's right where the heat should be, I knew they must be for shipping only and took them out. Tossed one in the garbage.

1st filled one clearo with Espresso from JC, turns out it is PG (i could swear I ordered all Red Oaks, but apparently not.) PG just burns. 3 of 5 in the sample pack are PG based, totally unusable for me.

So I loaded up the second clearo with Lemon Drop from Mt Baker. After awhile it seemed like it was coming unscrewed, so I gently tightened it. Then it seemed like it was leaking. I thought maybe I shouldn't have taken those lil plastic rings out. Might be a seal that's necessary. Started to take it apart, then it turns out the clearo cracked completely open along the bottom edge. It was only after this I realized these aren't pyrex tanks, they are plastic. And the lemon drop specifically says may damage plastic.

So the one remaining tank has the PG stuff in it, my husband offers to go clean it out for me so I can fill it with something else. He brought it back in a paper towel then said "Oops, there's some paper stuck to it." And promptly pulls out 1/3 of the wick.

I give up for the day.

Welcome to the forum. Ouch, that is a bad start. Well, the optimist in me says "It'll only get better'. Always hated that guy, annoying. More like, "Well, how worse can it get". Ahhh, much better. Seriously though. In the end, you learned a few things, you will improve and you will have many wonderful vaping days. Please don't let one bad one ruin it for you. Vaping is not smoking. There is a learning curve and yes, there are lot of mistakes, I know, I've made most of them. I am by far no expert. Good luck and have fun!

Don't feel bad. My brother got me vaping to help me quit smoking. He had given me a variable voltage stick battery (that I promptly destroyed day one), got a new one. He had also given me two carto's (that I was able to ruin on day two... yes, both of them). Then day three he lent me his Kanger Pro Tank... broke that that night... Bad start indeed. However, things got better. He showed me what I did wrong (like you figured out) and didn't have those problems again. Keep your head up.

Johnson Creek Valencia started out promising, but the "hint of cinnamon" is actually more of a burning fireball. Just like those hot candies. Yuck. I can't handle spicy hot things. Ouch! Okay, so I have two out of 6 vapeable e-liquids. Just ordered some new ones, but I'll have to wait for them to come in.

Hang in there! You wouldn't like to see me on my first day, tanks leaking, juices all over my table and all over ME, changing 3 tank heads in 5minutes, gurgling sounds on draw, mouthful of juices, juices I think I'd like but I actually hate and so on and so on... Completing the messy picture would be my parrot who actually saved the day, landing on my shoulder and demanded a KISS in all that mess!

Prior to getting my first e-cig a few years ago I looked up all of the information I could on youtube.

You'd be amazed how much you can learn from others experiences. It will get better for you. Just keep diligent and don't sweat it, your learning and like all change it comes with resistance but in the end makes you better typically.

You can ease off juices by adding a milder juice to it. I do that with a cinnamon menthol that I have. Tasty, but whew, vicious. Good luck and have fun!

I ruined a carto by cleaning it with a Q-tip soaked in hydrogen peroxide and getting peroxide inside through the bottom hole. Everybody makes mistakes!
You said PG burns? Did it taste burnt, or did it cause a burning sensation in your throat/mouth? I've read that some people can have bad reactions to PG, but I don't know if you're one of them.

Oh my! That is a rough go at it! My fiance and my best friend are a hot mess with tanks, batteries, juice - well everything really. My fiance has everything down now - I think! I tried to get him put together with a very simple set up - he prefers BCCs however he occasionally still forgets to put the bottom on and puts them right on the battery! But he is doing better, I just get back ups for the back ups of our back ups in case he gets destructive! lol.

Thankfully I was fairly fortunate - I mostly only made messes when I started....albeit they were big ones. Juice all over everything and especially me more than once.

Dont get discouraged - it does get easier - promise!!!

It's okay, Barbara, I'm laughing too. It has been a mess! The PG hurts my throat really badly and makes me cough. But this cinnamon flavor e juice was burny feeling all over. It tasted just like those Fireball candies that aren't really cinnamon flavor, they are spicy hot. I hate that. If they'd said that was what the flavor was I never would have ordered it.
