This is weird

Did anybody else become REALLY aware of their teeth and gums after switching? It is bugging me. I was in the car earlier and noticed that I was sucking on my lower teeth. Then I started noticing that my mouth felt odd. It doesn't hurt or itch or anything but seems really sensitive. Could this be due to vaping? I have been vaping for a week and no analogues at all for two days now. I have brushed my teeth a half dozen times since which probably isn't helping. I checked in the health issues forum and didn't see anything on this (No, I didn't look at ALL of them). I haven't made my five posts here yet and can't post this there.

I had the same experience during the first couple months. Part of it is your mouth tissues healing from smoking, and they seem over-sensitive for a while. Any recent dental work seemed to ache a bit too for a little while. As the tissues get healthy, it goes away and everything just tastes better. Rinsing my mouth out with cold water seemed to help a bit. Hang in there and keep vapin'!

Hello there & welcome to ECF! I had some sensitivity right after I switched as well as canker sores. You'll find that if you've been avoiding dental work...I was avoiding getting 2 cavities filled...that you'll begin to feel the pain more as well. Apparently cigarettes somehow block the pain to a certain extent. Weird huh? It's also possible that you might be allergic to pg or vg. Just keep an eye on it & be sure to check out the info on possible side effects in the new members section of the forum.

I've had similar experiences even when I tried quitting with patches, gum, lozenges, zyban, etc...in dozens of unsuccessful tries. .

E cigs are the only smoking alternative that doesn't give me heartburn and ........ within hours. Welbutrin helped me stop cold turkey but it also took away my desire to eat and sleep.
Vaping has had a side effect of me losing my desire for cigarettes and nothing else that I've noticed but it's only been a few days.

Yep, seems pretty common... but it's due to quitting/lowering the cigarettes, not directly from vaping.

For like a week or so after I quit the cigs my teeth actually felt weirdly tingly and achey and my gums would bleed a bit when I brushed. Nothing major just that "pink in the sink". It went away.

Turns out that cigarette smoke causes vasoconstriction and that effects the blood flow in your gums just like anything else. The mouth weirdness is actually a sign of your body starting to return back to normal =)
