In case anyone was wondering, this is the reason they stopped shipping loose Li Ion batteries thru airmail

Yup. Think of cargo plane pilots, crew and their families. If you have to get your batteries from China, ship them by sea transport. Most of the batteries like the eGo that are shipped from China, in my experience, are already switched on when received. If FT doesn't give a damn about their fellow citizens who fly transport, we should.

That UPS Dubai incident was caused by 40,000 loose lithium batteries in the cargo hold area, not built in egos....airplanes are actually built using lithium batteries for the avionic and electronic instruments and gauges etc...and the planes had a very poor fire suppression system and the pilots were unable to see due to the smoke...but there is a very simple way to transport these lithium batteries on planes in a safe and correct manner..

Right, and every chinese reseller sold loose batteries in bulk, wrapped in plastic bubble wrap and stuffed in shipping envelopes, not just fasttech, the international shipping consortium freaked out after the accidents and started enforcing a law that was a year old and wasn't being enforced...
