So iv been thinking about fancy builds, and today i was like well i have some clapton wire and some 24G normal wire so i wrapped them together like you would a parallel, not sure if this is still classed as a parallel...
Does anyone else fancy builds or tips to pass on to me as iv always been into building but i now want to try harder and fancier builds thank you

(also the the build i did was a four wrap around 2.5mm screw driver it came out to 0.3)

That type of build I would imagine is similar to a staggered, or staged heating coil, the 24awg would heat up quicker than the clapton due to wire mass, they work pretty well. Myself personally I've kind of gone as simple as possible with my builds, yeah I've done staples, fused, triple fused claptons, juggernauts, zippers, double helix wickless, etc. Amount of time spent making a coil, amount of power needed to push highly massive exotic coils you get to a point energy expended (time making it and wattage to fire it) tapers off against a 0.00001 etc gain in vapor or flavor production. With the right airflow, diameter, wicking, vg ratio, I can generally build a much simpler coil, straight, twisted, parallel, basic clapton that will perform just as well as a super exotic fancy coil and done with a lot less power and time expended building it with a faster ramp up which equals more time liquid is vaporizing instead of sizzling and boiling ruining its flavor.

Those fancy builds sure are nice to look at, and props to the vapers with the skill to build them, but I stick to regular ole coils. Twisted is as fancy as I get, and I see no need to go beyond that. Just my . vape on my friends.

I once went thru the fancy coil stage- merely to see if I could do them. After a while, it just wasn't worth it to keep doing it.
I'd suggest checking out youtube to see what they're building.

You n me both. Have one twisted (28 ga) on my Twisted Messes (what else would one use on a TM RDA? -jk) All other RDAs (5 I think) are plain Jane 6 wrap 26 ga. Perfect for me and takes me about one min to build, attach, fire up.

I only build with totally normal kanthal coils. Either 24 for dripping or 28 for the kfuns.

The only time I ever use anything more exotic is if they have sent some pre made coils like with my Gemini. TBH there wasn't really a noticeable difference except a slow ramp up time.

Because I couldn't taste the difference I just forget those. To each his own though. Some look great like this ;

I've been building coils for 2 - 3 years. I worked in a vape shop for one of those years, and one of the requirements to work there was to be able to build coils. My contemporaries were "master coil builders" who built a new coil every day...just because. They made all of the exotic coils that they saw Rip Trippers make on YouTube. I tried them them all on their devices and I was never that impressed. None of them vaped any better than my simple coils. Your mileage may vary though.

I don't particularly enjoy making coils for my setups. I do it because I get a better vape than using factory-made coils, plus its much more economical to build my own.

Don't get me wrong. If you truly gain satisfaction/enjoyment by making exotic builds then go for it. I see it as being similar to hobbyists who paint miniature action heroes or model cars/planes for relaxation.

Simple Parallels are the best that I've used to date. 26g and 28g ss316l specifically. I do love seeing ecf folks builds though. Some are straight up art!

Im like most old schoolers.
Ive tried lots of exotic elaborate builds.
They look cool but dont really perform better, and they have long ramp up times and suck power.
Other than looks I didnt see an advantage.
