I have had my Prodigy for 1 week, and I love it...but now my RCR123A batteries are sucking big time! They have very little power in the Prodigy, very small amount of vapor- and a draw that feels like I am sucking an empty straw. When I put them in the charger, they are showing charged in 15 to 30 minutes! When I use them, I have to switch them out every 2 hours or less.

I have checked the charger...the batteries fit tight, not loose. I have cleaned everything on the Prodigy to make sure it isn't a contact problem, but I don't know if it is the batteries or the charger. All 4 of the batteries that came with the Prodigy are like this. To top it off, I think I lost one of the new 801 atties that I ordered with it. No heat, no vapor, no nothing. Trying to clean it out to see if I can get it going. I am trying to use my regular 510 to curb my cravings while I get this straightened out, but after using the Prodigy....the regular 510 isn't cutting it much. :(

I have had mine a few weeks now and it is hard to tell if the batteries are ACTUALLY dead or if it is just the atomizer needing juice or flooded. When the atomizer has too much liquid in it there will be a diminished vapor production. If you think the batteries are needing charged after two hours they probably don't and it is a problem with the atty. At least this has been my experience anyway. Without the aid of a blinking LED to tell you when the batteries are needing charged one may think the batteries are no good. And sometimes your juice can deposit on the coil and create a lack of vapor. Once you get it clear again it will produce again, maybe. Again these are just MHO.

I have one set of batteries that actually went bad. Your theory is correct though. That space between the atomizer and the screw threads contain the wires conecting the two. Flood that chamber with juice and it causes a short between the wires that reduces the voltage to the atomizer. Also a very hard draw. She could have a defective charger though.

Yea I agree about the charger issue also but nine times out of ten it is the atomizer. Flooded or dry it will not produce. There is just such a fine line there. And when dripping it takes a lot of getting used to for perfect results every time. And these batteries are not all created equal either. When I think the batteries are dead sometimes it is just the atty. I change it to a different one and back to normal again. Batteries last me about 8 hours.

Before a flame war is started in the prodigy area. Go back to his post where he said testing batteries. It is a hyperlink to testing batteries.

Would have possibly been more understandable saying. Link to testing batteries

He knows it is a link.

Sorry about that gjrhine. I'm just used to how you usually post.:) Didn't catch that post.

So in all fairness actually response should have been. gjrhine gave you a link that tells you the answers to your question and more. IF your just willing to read it. This way when you have problems. You know where to look for answers.

Better gjrhine??

You know I was just messing around with my Prodigy after reading the thread about the guy who bent his tube where the end cap goes. I took mine apart like I was changing the batteries and put it back together. I gotta tell you I did nothing different and I could swear I put another battery in there. This thing is putting out a LOT MORE vapor than it was just a minute ago. WTF did I do? I don't want to even bump it too hard now in fear of loosing this killer vapor. Maybe the atomizer came to life all of a sudden. It has been in use for a week or so,,, I don't have any idea what happened but I like it... lol....
