An older study showed PG was effective against bacteria and viruses. That and my years of not catching colds since I started vaping suggest it may very well help with prevention. I don't know if VG has been studied in that manner. As an old school 2/3 PG vaper, I'm optimistic.

Beautiful wife went shopping for essentials yesterday. No .... paper, no sanitizer, no essential cleaners like bleach, etc. None seemed to he in stock. She was inquiring about aloe, rubbing alcohol, etc. I told her we (I have) GALLONS of PG, which is a great antibacterial/antiviral.
She also came home with THREE packs of .... paper. Bless her heart

I'm going to get some dry goods today, my local store was saying that their shipments are going to harder hit areas and they're not getting what they usually order.
I buy a lot of essentials online, but all the sanitizers, household cleaners etc are sold out, even on Amazon. Walmart.com says ‘in stock at your store, out of stock for shipping’. Seems stupid to me. Oh you’re worried about germs? Well come on in and hang out where you’re sure to catch some!

I use 60 to70%pg so that would be nice.
If you can't find any hand sanitizer or cleaners, look into making some thieves blend with essential oils. You can also buy it premade. Once you have the mixture it can be used to make a hand sanitizer or surface cleaner and smells nice too.

This will never likely happen. They would never admit it if they found that out.
"The powers that be" are already putting vape in a bad light as it applies to corona virus...

We have plenty of hand sanitizer, bleach, and disinfectants. My wife recently put wire frame toilet tissue holders in all our bathrooms and they are full. Each holds about 5 rolls vertically and there's a backup supply for that.
Now, if we could just stop the free-fall leakage on Wall Street. Trading has been halted several times today to prevent sell-offs and it's still experienced a 2300 point plunge in spite of that.
I'm hoping my investment broker is handling our investments prudently. His phone is probably ringing off the hook.

You might think I'm being funny but actually serious... really cheapo vodka is great for cleaning and killing germs.
Agree. My company used to authorize purchase of 190 proof Everclear Vodka for cleaning tape drive heads in computer rooms I serviced. Those were the only times I got to put Vodka on my expense report!

Serious question now. I just went looking for something in the garage and found a couple of unopened liter bottles of hand sanitizer, but they expired in 2013. The contents were PG, glycerol and 70% ethyl alcohol, plus something to make it smell nice.
It feels and smells like regular hand sanitizer. I wonder if it could have gone off?
I don't think it would be as effective as a fresh bottle. I would still use it after I topped it off with more 70-91% alcohol.
I don't think any of the three ingredients you listed would have suffered much if any, unless exposed to extreme conditions. The only bad effect to the alcohol would be evaporation and that would be obvious by the decreased volume. And you said the bottles are sealed, so...
you weren't planning to take this stuff internally! It will kill germs.
This whole thing seems tailor made for the Climate Change crowd !. Just a coincidence it's happening around same time in history.
Don't get me wrong though. I do realise the Corona Virus is very real !. It's just that global media is "solely" resposible for stock market failures, global travel bans or people simply not wanting to travel after they've watched the news (incidentally reducing the carbon footprint created by plane travel).....etc.
This Corona Virus outbreak is also, supposedly, supercharging high street sales which isn't a bad thing for the economy, what with all the panic buying going on !. And again, "coinciding" with the UK's departure from the EU. I have noticed here in the UK that our departure, being the only thing in the news for the last three years, has now been completely forgotten about by news media outlets....like it never happened, and now the Corona Virus has taken it's place. So now the panic buying is down to the Corona Virus..... and not the UK's exit from the EU !?......according to the news media anyway (they must have very short memory's !). So in light of that fact, who's going to believe the news media ?.
Someone is making a lot of money selling hand sanitizer though. I wonder how "their" shares are looking on the stock market ?, along with every other brand on the supermarket shelves (the numbers are in the thousands). No mention of that from the news media though, just how bad it is for every other company listed on the stock market.....The term "Cherry Picking" comes to mind !. So it seems news media aren't concerned about how good things are, because that's getting ignored, no !, it's about how bad things are, or to be more precise, how bad "they say" things are.

I have purchased two carboys of 99% pure grain alcohol, a drum of glucose and saline solution, a hypodermic syringe and some rubber tubing. The ethyl-saline-glucose solution in the carboys I have slung from the rafters over my bed with the tube into my arm. If I'm left undisturbed I should be able to spend the next two years well fed and blind drunk until this Corona thing has blown over.
