Has anyone found an easy way to remove those stickers (black) that come on the colored cartomizers?

I have found using them with an Ego cone is very unsatisfactory. They make the cone fit too tight and I can get no airflow with them on.

I read somewhere about putting them in the fridge for a little while but I just tried it with one and it didn't seem to help at all. I have tried alcohol and acetone (being careful to only get it on the outside) but that glue is relentless.

Any help would be appreciated. I ordered quite a few black ones and they are becoming a royal pain.

Thanks

There's a product available at craft stores called Sticker Lifter...it's made by Goo Gone which is available at home improvement stores under the company name. I believe they're all forms of mineral spirits, but IMO the Sticker Lifter works best, only need a small amount and leaves no residue.
ps, Sticker lifter will safely remove photos from those old glue page photo books, without ruining the photo..pretty cool. :)

Thanks a bunch .. I will check at Hobby Lobby tomorrow and try to get some. I had a bottle of the Goo gone but I've used it all. I will try to find the sticker lifter.

try freezing it, maybe itll harden the glue up so you can just pull it off

I'm so sorry I forgot all about it. I put a cartomiser in the freezer right after the post and forgot about it. It should be well frozen now. I will post results in a little while. I'm a true space commander.

OK .. freezing it for six days didn't help much. The sticker came off but the residue was still there.

It was very cold. LOL

The sticker lifter does work well though, which is why I totally forgot the one in the freezer.

I didn't have much luck with alcohol or lighter fluid either. Maybe different manufacturers use different glue. These are boge LR black.

I'm still having trouble finding steel ones.

Glad to hear the sticker lifter worked for you! I've used it in scrap booking for years and what made me think it would work for these is the way after I remove even 'permanent' stickers, 9/10 times they come off w/the glue and can be reused. So unlike other solutions it doesn't try breaking everything down, if that makes sense? anyway~ glad it worked. :)
