So.. Hello to anyone who cares.. Name's Tony - you can call me Tony, Deuce, 'HEY'.. anything works, really.. Anyway I'm entirely new to the vaping scene and this community and since the job I was supposed to start today fell through I have lots of time on my hands and felt the need to stop lurking and throw up a post.

I'm looking for opinions and comments and maybe a touch of advice and whatnot.

Thus far I've ordered:
Blu starter kit - got tired of waiting and cancelled the order...
M-401 Gold edition (litecigusa.com) dual atomizer kit
5ml Camel juice (litecigusa.com)

Now, most things I've read and seen thus far tell me that I'm going to end up vaping way more constantly than I currently smoke.. That's fine - I like what smoking does (did) for my image. I'm fairly confident with the M-401 kit I got - I made sure to get the dual kit just in case there's a problem, and I only grabbed the Camel juice cause I've smoked Camels for a few years now and I figure it'll be an easier switch if I stay halfass in my comfort zone at first..

I know 5ml isn't going to last very long.. But I figure that combining it with the 5 carts that come with the kit I should at least make it through the weekend okay. If I happen to like the Camel stuff, I might stick with it - though I'm planning on trying out some TW liquid for my first 'big' bottle. I've heard mostly good things.. *shrug*

Anyway, my friggin mail-lady doesn't get here till usually between 2 and 4pm, so I have likely 6 hours or so to wait until I can even start charging my stuff. I know a decent bit about batteries and charging and have a pretty high mechanical aptitude and such - so no worries about maintenance or propper care.

Um, anyway... I've been smoking Camels, as I've said.. Usually Filters and Wides Filters. I happened to see somewhere that on average Camels can contain up to 15mg of nicotine each? Or was that per-pack? Just a little math tells me that the 18mg liquid I happened to get isn't going to last long at ALL if that's right.. I'll make it work either way I suppose.

So the only real questions I have are roughly as follows (feel free to throw in anything else you feel relevant) :

1. Taking a hit off an e-cig.. A tutorial? "A lot of people end up with a mouth full of juice cause they try to hit an e-cig like an analog" Pretty sure Ms. Spikes said something along those lines in her video stickied in this forum.. Start easy, let the atty head up, then slowly increase draw effort? What's your technique?

2. I really, REALLY can't decide on a flavor.. Assuming I do want to stick with TW e-liquid, can anyone reccomend something (tobacco-esque or not) that is pleasant and doesn't get old during the course of a few dozen mL?

3. I know evo/pilot/m-402/m-403 batteries should work.. But I'm curious if a given site or manufacturer seems to have better quality batteries? Leaford turned me onto the 401, and I do like the way it looks.. But performance and reliability outweigh looks any day, right?

4. I'm sure I could research this and find my own answer - and I likely will, but I'm already here - I'm curious about a passthrough and even more so about optional or 'moddable' carts, etc. I couldn't find a good thread on this for the 401.. Links?

So, there's my intro and my newb questions.. Feel free to say 'hi' or to answer any questions (or to lurk and read and steer free). It's nice to be here, and I already appreciate all the people who have shared to much information..

Have a good one y'all..

Neither here nor there
Welcome, Deuce!
I have a bit of e-cig ADD, in that I keep ordering different models hoping to find "the one".
I have concluded that "the one" does not exist.

The auto switch e-cigs benefit from a "primer puff" to heat the atomizer to a temp that provides more of a hit and better vapor. Maybe that's what Spike was referring to, I haven't seen her video.

I, too, am waiting for delivery of a 401, but in the meantime I have half a dozen other models to keep my busy. I find that I use different models at different times. I like the 801 and SD while driving. I use the SD at home. I use the Blu when trying to inconspicously sneak a drag. I probably haven't given the others in my arsenal a fair shake, yet, but I do like the VX2.

There is much to learn about optimizing the performance of your device. ECF is a great resource.

As far as liquid goes, I vape mostly vanilla and sweet flavors. TW has great juice, but you will pay for it. Ruyan Direct has a great deal on their juices, if you can stand the wait. I had my first order deliverd in 5 days (from China) and my second order is going on two weeks.

Once you find what you like, build up a reserve of parts and juice. You never know when the Feds are going to pull the plug on our party.

Good luck to you!

First of all welcome,

To answer your questions:
1. I take a long mouth inhale, probably 5 seconds. Relearning how to draw is one of the hardest habits to break when switching to vaping.
2. Sampler packs are your friend, at least until you find what you like. Some people go for tobacco flavors, others ditch them and find non-tobacco flavors preferable. The carts that will come with your kit can help determine the amount of nic that you need/want. After 4 months of heavy vaping, I've finally settled on a range of 16-24mg, and 36 when around smokers.
3. Some feel that the EVOs have an upgraded/different battery, but my EVO batteries preform the same as my factory Smoore units. Overall the M401 have an impressive battery life.

4. Not quite sure what your talking about... Moddable carts... anyway Smoore just released a USBPT for the M series, but i would look to the thread below/reviews section for any updates on it.

This http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...te-reviews/4523-m201-402-my-dream-e-cigs.html is pretty much MOST of the information on the M401/2/3 It'll probably take you a few days to read through it, but its worth it.

Yay! Got mah box! The sample carts seem to be marlboro in high strength.. cool. 5mL of juice is more than I figured it'd be.. Thanks for the welcome and the comments you three, and please nobody feel shy about throwing in their $0.02..

It is so much harder to resist than I thought.. --Er, that is, the urge to pretend that the batt has been charging for several more hours than it has.. Fortunately, I still have half a pack of analogs to tide me over. I'm thinking that maybe just for the comparison I might drip some of my Camel juice for my first draw... So excited.. The suspense is gonna kill me, I know it.

Hey Duece ! This is my first post. I have been just reading. I was a 2 to 3 pack a day marlboro red junkie for about 30 years. I quit i time for 1 year but i was ...... off every minute of every day. I have been vaping since april 15th have not touched a analog and i love it. I am so happy to have this forum because everyone thinks i am nuts for vaping. I started off high strength (24 mg) johnson creek original and went to med.(18mg) and it's not that big of difference. GOOD LUCK DEUCE

Fresh: I gave in to temptation.. I did wait a solid 2 hours though, and the light on the charger was solid green with just an occasional half-second blip of red.. Couldn't help it XD

Hilway: Yeah.. I know.. Money is a slight concern, but I'm doing what I can to allot about $50 for blank carts and juice.. Still lookin at TW but I have no clue what flavor to go with.. Everybody says you regain a lot of sense of taste that you didn't know you lost.. I don't want to go with the tobacco flavored stuff if I'm going to realize that it tastes like.. ash. Buying an entire 30mL though.. Ugh.. Such a decision.. A month - or at least a few weeks - worth of something that I'm basically stuck with.. cause I'm broke.

Anyway - thus far I couldn't be more satisfied! I'm thinking about chain smoking the rest of my wides just to get rid of them.. Ironically, I think the m-401 has a better throat hit than my friggin camels..

you'll phase out those wides in a day or two...........might be good to save one for tomorrow........because it will taste like the hind end of a rotten rhineroceros and prove to you vaping tastes better

There exists not a smiley to express my amusement at this concept...

I sure will though XD I'm looking forward to sending RJR my own personal little 'screw you' via half a dozen packs less a week for them to ship out.
