BTW, one of my coworkers is pretty out of shape and went from couch(0 exercise) to Insanity and survived/didn't hurt himself. Just take your time at first as others have said and pay special attention to the stretching before and after... that's what will save you from a lot of injuries from these types of workouts.

Good to know, I will definetely keep in mind the stretching...I just hate feeling like I'm only looking at the comments that support my decision, and ignoring all the points against it...it's like the 510-t all over again.

Coca-cola is my kryptonite...as soon as I find a good cola vape...who am I kidding...I love the stuff...soooooooooo much...

I've never tried any other to compare, but I mixed BWB's cola with some Boba's Bounty and it was niiicccee.... But it made me want a coke so much that I went to the store and got one so tread with caution!

I also want abs...

Congrats on the 69 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the diet, if you want abs cut out wheat, it makes you puffy. (Only eat rye or pumpernickel bread)

Edit- If you find your exercise program too intense you could try pilates, it's all about core strength training, abs/back. I haven't done it in a while but even after a few weeks doing pilates I feel much more toned, good luck!

Well, it's been 69 days since I quit analogs:)...and I really don't have any support system other than you guys, so i thought you guys should be the first to know. I plan on trying out that Insanity Workout program. If all goes well, I would like to follow the two month plan to the letter (Including the eating regime) I think you out to know that I'm 200 pounds and extremely lazy...I think my ideal weight would be 180.

Anyways just wanted you guys to know how god awful scared I am...

If you ate a griddle cake once every 2 months or even every month, and ate healthy the rest of the time, and walked and took on an excersize regime - the griddle cakes wouldn't hurt your newly svelt and trim self.

Good luck with it all. You might be surprised at how easy it is. ....

I started insanity last Monday and it's intense. Cardio isn't my strong suit. You feel soo great when you're done though. Can I recommend a bit of advice? Pause is your friend. The 30 second water break isn't nearly enough time to bring my heart rate down. I have noticed that my cardio is getting better and I have to wait less time to get back into it. My goal is by week 3 that I'm able to keep up at their pace. If you have a beachbody account send me a buddy request. My name on there is CASEACE79 just like here. I'll help ya stay on track and I'll check in on this thread every evening if ya want. We can keep eachother accountable. Tonight I'm doing cardio power and resistance. Gonna start here around 8. GL and remember DIG DEEPER!!!!

Insanity is a 2 month program designed by Shaun T. If you've ever heard of Hip Hop Abs that was designed by him too. It's part of the beachbody series of in home workout programs. They also have P90X and 10 minute trainer. Check out their site to see all the other programs as well as some really inspiring weight loss stories.

Wow, so I just did the fitness test...I couldn't even make it halfway through...felt the unbearable urge to puke, and got this copper taste in my mouth, like my lungs were bleeding...

I'll tell you how it goes tomorrow:)

I puked twice during the fit test! Lol!!! I haven't since. It's strange cause the workouts are harder than the fit test but you start to get used to the cardio to an extent. Just remember that it's only 2 months and keep hitting play every day.

That's exactly the problem. Viewing this as a 2 month quick fix will get you in shape for the summer, but it will also raise your weight set point . A year or 2 or 5 down the road, you'll be 20 pounds heavier than you are now.

I know because I crash dieted 25 years ago and stopped at 185. Time wore on and i ended up at 289 pounds last December.

I'm down to 263 now and losing more from week to week. My goal is 215 by Xmas. I'm viewing my diet and activity changes as a permanent lifestyle adjustment, just like switching to vaping.

The exercise program is only 2 months long. The nutrition guide is exactly that a guide to healthier living. It is not a diet but a lifestyle change. That's why it works. The exercise program is designed to get you to the weight you want and stay the weight you want to stay at. It isn't a quick fix. It's based on science and eating a healthy well balanced diet. I know it may sound like I'm going into defense mode but I'm not. This is just information. Just didn't want others that read this to think that the program was a fad diet where you only eat carrots for a month. Lol

I hope you didn't take my comment as discouragement, I didn't mean it that way, and the commenters recommending going slow, stretching and warming up are absolutely right.

I've done p90x completely, parts of p90x2, crossfit and am currently doing a hybrid workout that combines a lot of the tenets of these types of workouts. Just remember that the intensity is the key to a good workout no matter what kind it is. What you consider intense (usually dictated by your target heart rate), especcially starting will definitely not be the same as the program.

When I get my Soldiers started on p90x or anything similar I tell them to start by looking at the reps or time on the screen and just do half for the first couple of weeks, this lets their bodies gradually improve and adjust to the increase in strain they are putting their bodies through. When somebody starts weight lifting or wants to do crossfit I tell them to use only 50% of their 5 rep max until their shoulders catch up to their biceps in strength. If I'm training anyone one on one, I won't let them use any weight till their form through all the sets is correct, ie no cheating.

Good luck, and if you feel sharp pain, immediately stop and ICE the area, if it's just dull burning pain, well that's the burn lol. Have fun, if you stick with it for a couple of weeks, preferably around the same time of day, you will start to look forward to your workout time, especcially when you start to see the results, you'll even start to look forward to the soreness cause it means you had a great workout (generally....)

P90X is an awesome program. I do it every March, April, May as part of my sexy for summer program.

Haha I thought I was the only one... I hit it hard last spring/summer, then chilled over the holidays and gained some winter weight... now I"m back on it, this time P90X2 and whew! Much more muscle confusion than the original. Plyocide seems less intense than Plyometrics, but I had to stop several times(HR 192, I'm 34!) due to dizziness. I didn't eat perfectly that day either, a little low on the calories but still.
