By the time Rob completely lost his mind and actually did design, tool'd up and produced a DIY box (complete with parts baggies A thru G, incl. wire, connectors, shrink wrap, etc...) not to mention the 200 page assembly manual... then responded to the 87,000 questions of "how do I..." Evolv will have come out with the dna 50... and of course everyone would HAVE to have that one cause it has bluetooth...a total game changer!

A 40w chip with temp control? really?... Is that not the definition of oxymoron?

Actually, if you look at the dna 40 spec sheet, that is also covered. The chip pushes a nominal amount of power to the coil to "pre-heat"; this amount is not even sufficient to cause vaporization of juice. This serves to reduce heat up time, but it doesn't just dump power from the get go. That's also the impression I got from PM-ing 3 other beta testers. Nods.

ANYWAYS. I'm just basing everything off evolv's spec sheets and have no personal exp. I do have a rDNA on pre-order tho.
You might be right. But i saw on the video that although Phil set it to like 20 watts it jumped to 32 then went back down. I'm not sure how much it will go up I assumed it jumps to 40 watts to reach temp limit faster or so.

Yeaaaaa I don't actually know for a fact. As an engineer, I treat spec sheets like they're God-sent, and have more than often been proven wrong by real-life observations. We'll see! Hopefully vaporrshark sends out my unit soon.

On a more on topic point, I'm not entirely sure why I bought it. I've been using my REOs pretty much exclusively. Face palm. Not sure what to do with all my nods. I would loooove to see the kick-compatible REO tho! That's the next one im gonna pick up.

Maybe the planets will align and there will be a kick 3 with temp control and will fit in the kick compatible Reo.

I would love this, but I doubt Evolv can shrink it this quickly.

Anyway Rob, I meant no disrespect by this topic. A little wishful thinking on my part (It might be the shinyitus as well).

As someone said above there is a market for everything and enough people to consume everything.

If you go to vaporshark, evolve, hana or Zen they could never be as good as Rob is with his reos and most importantly they don't want to because they got their thing. The same applies for Rob and his reos. He could do it but why would he bother. It's really just like the saying goes "why make it easy if you can make it complicated".

People buy his Reo's for as long as I can remember and even with all this new stuff on the market people keep buying and loving reos. No need to start putting chips into awesome mech mods even though I personally would love to have a dna reo as well just to have it of course.

Also, if rob would start doing dna reos I bet ya his customer service and presence on here would be done with and he would probably be in a crappy mood all the time with all these cables and buttons and crap.

10,000% agree, Rob needs to leave his gear exactly the way it is...only we're allowed to do unspeakable things to them with power tools

So I guess my main point is this. Since Rob does not want to "deal" with regulated mods. How much interest would their be in requesting Rob design up and make a DIY version of the REO for the Evolv board?

dude, rob does make a DIY version of the reo. lots of them really... isn't DIY = Do It Yourself? any reo can be a DIY reo if you actually DIY it

Yes, but we are mere mortals, turbo, not possessing the dark necromancing skillz you have.

I really like my start up REO collection. When I purchased my first REO the VV REO was available via Robert's site. I considered it for about a minute and moved on to the mech REO Grand. I have a couple of regulated mods (Proscary) being one. I finally removed the batteries an use them now in mh REO rotation. I don't even carry it as a backup now since adding another another REO to fill that niche. They sit on the shelf of shame. If Robert decided to get back into that market, which it is clear that he won't, I wouldn't buy it, not because of money constraints but because I am totally satisfied with the product and the vape experience I get from them. Don't fix something that isn't broke. If people want a VV/VW REO they should build their own. I am glad to have a vendor who is dedicated to his product and supports that with award winning customer service. The business model that he uses is successful and needs no improvement, imo

I have the idea that a "drop in" module could be made for the vv grand, to make it a DNA... It would have to be bigger than the delrin insert that already is there to accommodate the board and up and down buttons, and also you would just use a 18650 instead of two 18350. All that would be needed is to connect the power button.

I have a DNA30 board coming and I am planning on adapting it to my defunct vv grand; if I can´t, I´ll send it to Rob so he can make it a mechanical.

the space where the chip is in the vv is a fraction of the size of the dna chip, no way it's going to fit as a direct swap. the vv is very tall though so you can put the dna into the base under the bottle and battery if you are a little creative... I've even fit the chip below the battery and bottle in a non vv, a vv has extra room to play with...
