Well, I gave my wife her eGo last night and she was very excited! Since there was two, I get one as well...right!?!
My tobacco history.
I smoked analogs for about 12yr and then gave them up cold turkey about 7yrs ago. It was hard, but hey, I gots me some good willpower. Anyway, about 2yrs ago I decided that I wanted to try smoking a pipe. So I've become sort of a pipe hobbiest. I smoke for the flavor of the different tobaccos and love them. I'm not an everyday smoker. I may smoke a bowl every 2 or 3 days. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
So, when my wife told me that she wanted an e-cig I started looking at them and quickly saw that they didn't just taste like a cigarette. Which kind of striked an interest in me since I smoke for flavor, not necessarily for the nicotine since I don't fully inhale. Ohhh...I know I still get nicotine, but I don't get the cravings from pipe tobacco like I did with analogs.
So now I have this outlook on these e-cigs not as a way to quit smoking, but maybe as a flavorful pastime...
Just wanted to give you a little background to know where I was coming from when I first started puffing on the eGo.
After opening the box I found that the instructions were just barely helpful. It just came with a little fold out pamplet that hardly explained a thing. Thank goodness for this website! I first popped in one of the prefilled carts that came with it. EEEWWWWWW!!!8-o That was nasty! So I found out (through here) how to fill the empty carts, and fill one with "French Pipe" PG 8mg from Liberty Flights that I had ordered. I vaped it throughout today at work and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Without getting into a review of the juice, I will say it had a sweet taste. Not like pipe tobacco at all , but I can see why someone would name it that.
The eGo seemed to preform as it should. Push the button, suck the end, blow the vaper. The whole unit seemed to be well made for the price. It isn't precision, but I really didn't expect it to be. The thread are fairly smooth when screwing and unscrewing. It is very easy to charge and to load the cartridge. Which is one thing that I am not impressed with. The way the cart fits the atomizer. It just pushes on. I was hoping to be able to carry it in my pocket but I'm afraid the cart will come off and soak my pocket with juice. I wish they would have threaded those as well....:( Also, the cart leaks where it is connected with the atomizer. Another disappointment. Seems like your loosing potential puffs if the juice is leaking out, besides the mess.
Overall, I think I will be happy with my purchase of the eGo. I can't wait to try other juices.
Just as a thought, I may end up ordering juice with even less nicotine (maybe none) and geared more to the VG side for more vapor. Besides being new to this, Liberty Flights juice pages were a little confusing for me. I may try somewhere else like Freedom Smoke USA next time.
Anyway, there is my initial feeling on the eGo. I think that there is still room for improvement for it, but I am happy with it and will enjoy it for some time to come!

Hi bowyorang,
Glad you are enjoying your eGo. Just thought I might suggest cartomizers (cartridge/atomozer together) to you. Carto's don't leak hardly when they are on like cart's do and they are also threaded so you don't have to worry about them falling off. I like carto's alot more and they are pretty convienent and inexpensive and refillable. Might be a solution to your problems. :) Happy Vaping!!

Yes, thank you! I have thought about the cartomizer. I didn't know, however, that it screwed on. That is a big plus for me. I may have to see about getting one.

How'd your wife like hers?

She liked it as well. I got here the PG Menthol 8mg since she smokes Marlboro menthols. She did say that is wasn't strong enough and mentioned she though something was wrong because it was leaking between the cart and atomizer. I explained to her that it happens and she was ok with it, just wants something stronger with more TH. I will probably get here something along the line of 24mg of nicotine next time.

how many analogs did your wife smoke? going from 8 to 24 mg is a pretty big jump...depending on her smoking habit you might want to go somewhere in between. That said though, individual nicotine need when vaping is hard to predict. Some very heavy full flavored smokers have been just fine with 12mg even though you might expect them to be in the 36mg crowd. Some who smoked merit ultra lights needed 24mg to satisfy their craving.

FreedomSmokeUSA lets you choose from a variety of PG/VG ratios. One note though - sometimes their flavors need to steep, so if you try one and it seems to smell or taste different than its description, people suggest setting the bottle open in a dark cool place for (safe from kids and pets) - some say leave it open for hours, some say days. Then close it and leave it sit there for a week or more?

Another place with nice juices is Backwoods Brew (they are 70pg/30vg). And you can try mixing too. A bit of Backwoods Brew Peach really spiffed up an eh PG tobacco eliquid I have.

She's not a real heavy smoker, about a pack and a half a week. Sometimes more. I may try something a little less for her, may 16mg?

Thanks for the advice on the steeping. I had read a little on it, but not a lot yet. I will probably get her and I some samples to begin with. There is just WAY too may choices!

I am thinking since I personally don't need a lot of TH, I may lean more on the VG for the flavors that I choose. Is there any downfall to this? Will I loose any of the flavorful goodness?
I say that I don't need a lot of TH because I have been dragging on it like I do my pipe. I will drag into my mouth with throat closed, after filled I open my throat, pull just a little vaper into my lungs and slowly exhale through my mouth and nose. I find this works well for me to actually taste what I'm pulling it in.

Here's a +1 for cartomizers. I was skeptical of the concept until i tried it! I ordered some of the Boge ones, which are dead simple to fill, just pop a cap off the end and drip in some juice. I have both the standard ones and the LR ones, and I must say, both are great, but the Boge LR cartomizers are amazing. Word to the wise, using LR cartomizers/attys on an ego will decrease the life of your battery, sometimes significantly from what I understand. I decided to take a chance on the Boges, as they are supposed to be 2ohm instead of 1.5, and as I understand it the lower the ohms the harder it is on your batteries. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong there. All I know for sure is that many people have used LR attys/cartos for months on a battery with no problems, and some have had them fry batteries the first day. So it is a danger. But they are great! lol
