I'm not really reviewing anything here, I just wanted to pass along some of my thoughts on the different devices I have in case it might help someone out.

1) DSE901

This was my first, and did the job quite well. Good vapor, easy dripping/topping off, decent battery life. Since this was a new gadget for me it didn't really get put down when I was at home. Usually when one battery died another was just finished charging.

The problems that I had with it were:

- Inconsistent quality of parts. I had 4 batteries from the same company and all 4 had a different personality. One was awesome every pull, 2 would get a little annoying at times cutting off early and such, and 1 was just a pain and was designated "ONLY IN EMERGENCY".

- Had to top off all the time. Once the cart used about 2 drops of juice I got the nasty taste, even when dripping, so I don't think it was the carts, but something with the atomizer (Never seen any real solid info on what it is on the forums, but I shall call it the nasty taste  )

- A little too big. Since I was just getting off analogs the size difference between the 901 and an analog was a little annoying.

- juice in the battery. This could have been a big factor in some of the issues with the batteries I had, but didn't really see much I could do since I had to get rid of the nasty taste.

Over all it was a good into to vaping and I still have 4 atomizers, and 4 batts cleaned and bagged up for an emergency. I think its a good easy starter device.

2) M401

I had decided I wanted something smaller and something with a 4 hole atomizer to see if I could get rid of the nasty taste when things were a little dry. Good vapor, decent battery life (about the same as the 901).

Problems that I had with it were:

- Carts are more annoying to fill / top off. Since you have to pop the actually cart out of the mouthpiece it was pretty annoying to do in the car, or when I didn't have a paper clip on me for some reason.

- Not much of a throat hit compared to the 901. I've heard Evo's have more of a throat hit, but didn't try one.

- Dripping is a little more difficult. Not having an enclosed atomizer always made a mess, or required too much effort.

Its a very solid device, but the lack of throat hit made me want an analog from time to time, so I decided to move on. Only saw juice in the battery once or twice and I'm sure that was me over filling. I may still use it from time to time.

3) Penstyle RN4072

This thing puts out awesome vapor, has great battery life, and huge carts! This was my at home device, while the 401 was my out and about one. I wanted something I didn't have to fill / charge all the time and could just sit on the couch / computer with and be worry free.

What I didn't like about it:

- Leaky! No matter what I did this thing leaked through the bottom of the atomizer. Every time I took off the battery there was a nice ring of liquid around where it connected. The only time this stopped was when it needed to be refilled.

- Vapor doesn't seem hot. Strange? I'll explain. I think it is the fact that the mouthpiece is so far from the atomizer that the vapor cools some before you inhale it. Its a noticable difference from my other devices.

Those are really my only issues. I still use it quite a bit, I just keep a paper towel handy and clean it up 3-4 times an evening. The coolness of the vapor really makes me want the heat from an analog and when it does I just grab one of my others until the topping off gets annoying, then I love the pen again :p

4) Joye510

Great vapor, great throat hit, decent battery life. Its about like the 901 in size. Carts are easy to top off. Manual battery is awesome! Enclosed atomizer.

What I don't like:

- Carts leak around the connection to the atomizer. I really have no idea how this happens considering the fact the carts are so tight, but it does. Have to wipe around the mouthpiece after a smoke break.

- Nasty taste when cart is not full. Just like the 901. I have to keep this thing soaked, and with all the liquid its burning up to make the great vapor, its pretty frequent that this is done.

I'm pretty happy with this one so far. It puts out around the same vapor as the penstyle. I just have to keep filling it up with 2-3 drops. The manual battery has been nice since I don't have to do a primer puff. Throat hit is really good, even with my 11mg liquid. Its the closest to an analog that I've tried.

--------------

I didn't go too deep into all the pros of these, but they certainly do have them. I really just wanted to touch on the things that I didn't like, while not trashing them ;) I don't regret buying any of them, and they all have their good and bad.

You didnt mention if the RN leaked towards the mouthpiece for you? Was it only leaking towards the Battery?

This was an older RN atomizer/cart combo correct? Not DSE801 atomizer/cart combo?

Thats pretty good to hear because those RN atomizers are only 5.50 at ruyandirect.

I think a leaky battery would be a pain but leaky carts in the mouth would be a little worse.

So even if someone went with that cheaper RN option (over the 6.50 801s), they dont have to worry about juice on the lips, just possible damage to the battery from fluid.
