Good morning Reonauts! I made a little video this morning that I started out making for Clark, aka Kent from Nicoticket and Chowderhead72 about some thoughts on KGD, Shiseido, & cotton I've been playing with and a little opinion on Rayon. I wasn't going to post but decided what the heck. I'm not trying to stir up anything but just easier to do a video than write. A little disclaimer here - opinions are only my own and if I ramble on and bore you death you can quit watching :).

My job involves purchasing/sourcing for a major hotel brand for linens, terry and fabrics. I've have been doing this for about 30 years. During this time I've been to countless mills in the US and worldwide that manufacture linen and terry. Some are fully integrated from cotton bales to finished product. I've seen it all. I could spend hours talking about what I've seen, smelled, and witnessed at the mills and didn't include but am happy to share my experiences if interested.

Thanks for your opinions on the hot wicking materials. I got which ones you do not recommend from it but am left wondering what readily available wicking material you do recommend for those of us not in the textile industry?
I was very hesitant to put this out there. I really don't want to stir up any controversy. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the KGD or the Shiseido or even cotton balls. Just being in the business I see how products are made. The cosmetic manufacturers may do a good job of sourcing cotton or use a reliable source. I just know from my experience I would take any advertising of purity with a grain of salt. I would be fairly comfortable in saying that any amounts of anything harmful in the cotton pads would be very minute. I just get a kick out of them selling for the prices they do for make up remover pads or whatever they're used for. What I started testing is totally unprocessed cotton from a mill I deal with. I know the source and know how the process that goes into making the
yarns for this particular product. Zero anything going into it.

I always get such a kick out of any discussion about "purity" vs "impurity", especially because for many many years I inhaled burning paper thru gawd-knows-what in the filter, with thousand's of chemicals and crud in the tobacco itself and never gave a thought to purity or impurity. Now I DIY, I use only VG, PG, a few drops of flavoring and 1mg of nicotine ... seems a lot purer to me regardless whether I vape it thru raw cotton, sterile cotton, bamboo thread, peaches & cream yarn, ReadyX, etc etc or my personal preference of rayon.

Is there a viable source for US long strand cotton? I am not liking the pills and minute fibers in the cotton sources I have. It is what I do like about the cellucotton rayon.

That's what's so good about discussing and opinions. Whatever works and makes people happy is what they should use. It wasn't very long ago we didn't even wrap coils and wick with cotton or silica and now rayon. Who knows what the next evolution of the cig will bring.

Good video Scott .... been meaning to ask about your screen name ??

Are you into scooters ?? As in motor scooters ??

I am, I have 2 Yamaha Zuma's a Honda Ruckus (in parts) A Genuine Stella 2T on the way next week from a family member and some GY6 China craps for parts.
Long story but I was called Scooter in my earlier days and just sort of stuck with some friends. I don't have scooters but do have a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 LT that I can't ride anymore due to big issues with my leg and new knee so doesn't bend well enough to ride safely. Anyone looking for a good bike let me know :). I see a few scooters around this area but those guys are taking their lives in their hands with the DC metro traffic. Worst drivers I've ever seen.

You haven't been to Houston...they have the reputation now as the most discourteous drivers in the country. I've driven in DC, LA, and other metro areas and I think I have to agree. No wonder our auto insurance rates are so high. By the way, great video, Scott. Very eye opening. I'm looking for a reliable source of pure, unprocessed cotton.
