Several threads have been moved to the lounge or to the appropriate social group because this sub forum is not a social group. ECF is divided up into many areas and the general discussion forum is for aptly "general discussion". When a thread becomes a social thread it no longer belongs here, it belongs in a social area of the forum such as the lounge or a social group forum.

One exception that we have allowed is the prevets thread because it relates to becoming and celebration of becoming a veteran. By all rights this should also reside elsewhere -- but for now it is the "exception that makes the rule".

Please do not PM the staff over this because they will not restore the threads to GD nor will they entertain arguments of the merits of a thread or the possibility of an exception. This decision is an organizational decision and is not aimed at any particular group or subgroup of our membership, it is simply keeping the forum organized.

If you wish to link to your chat thread in your signature it is perfectly fine and allowable within the forum rules.

Update: The exception on the prevet thread has been canceled and it has been moved to the lounge as well. The reasoning behind this decision is pretty simple. By the time you are eligible to become a veteran we would hope that you have learned the structure of the forum, if not this is a good way to introduce you to the lounge( our off topic area).

Another compelling reason for this change is Google. With the large amount of traffic and personal chatter in there Google is indexing way too much of your personal lives. A similar move was made long ago for the Jokers and The Snails for this very same reason.
