I have 3 tanks, and I have nine liquids. I am new enough (like only a week, lol) to not yet know what is my "all day vape." So what is the norm with more liquids than tanks? Do you continually wash out tanks and change the liquids, or do you buy more tanks? I have the kanger tanks, so they are washable although the wicks may contain some trace of the prior liquid's flavour....

With cigarettes I just stuck to one brand/flavour. Do you eventually get to the point with vaping that you stick to one flavour or are you constantly changing?

Thank you, Miss M. :)

I started with two Ego C-twists, two Kanger ProTank 2s, and about a dozen or so different liquids. I just filled up with two flavors at random and started vaping.

Compared to most on the forum, I'm relatively new to vaping. I normally have three setups in rotation. Whenever one of those three runs out of juice (as in the juice I was using in it is gone) I pick another setup, grab another juice, and put it into rotation.

I have found a few juices and setups that I really like, and will go back to eventually, but I got to the point where I was just overloading myself with rebuilding coils, washing tanks, swapping devices, and on and on. I'm trying to keep things a little simpler now.

I think I have eight tanks in the rotation right now, all with different flavor profiles. I wash out my tanks but rarely dry burn or even rinse the coil heads unless I'm going to go to a flavor completely different. Easy in EVODs and Protanks, with the Innokin iclears I usually change out the head if I'm going from say a coffee flavor to a fruit flavor. My carto tanks get RY4 in one, and then other tobacco flavors (peach tobacco for example) so I'll just wait until the carto is spent before switching flavor profiles. Then you just get a new carto, rinse out the tank and you're set.

Best advice to me is you have three tanks, try to keep like-juices in the different tanks. Keep one tank for tobaccos, one for fruits and one for desserts/sweets, etc. Start that way and it's easier to maintain and do the daily maintenance stuff. If you have a watermelon juice in and then go to a peach, you can just quickly rinse out the tank and the watermelon flavor will dissipate somewhat quickly. The only juice profile I find problematic is coffee vapes, those really stick to the wicks/cartos. If you like coffee vapes, definitely keep one tank dedicated to that flavor profile for ease of use.

Best of luck, good question.

I used to be super .... about keeping similar profiles in their respective tanks but gave that up because it was too hard to keep track. I have 6 tanks (4 Evods, 2 Vivi Novas, 1 Protank II that is now lost somewhere). I pretty much only use the Evods, but I have a dripping atomizer and 2 or 3 new clearos on the way. I have about 30 juices. I don't keep track of what's in what, and I just rinse the heads when I change flavors drastically. I always have 1 tobacco, 1 custard, and the others are rotated based on what I feel like having.

With ProTanks or other clearomizers, I run some hot water through the coil, let it dry overnight, then fill it up with a new flavor. If I wanted to go to a REALLY different flavor - that would horribly conflict, I might change to a fresh coil, too - but usually I don't bother.
A little hint of strawberry in my tobacco? Who cares? Might even find a great combo you want to repeat!

Now that I'm using Carto-tanks though - with those, I kind of stick to a flavor I'm going to want to vape all week. So I'm collecting tanks, so I can switch the whole tank for variety...

When I get a bunch of juices I try them all in a dripping atty. sometimes I find that some need to steep after doing that. Other times I find some that are good but I know I won't want to vape those for a whole day. And then usually I run across 1 that seems good enough that I'll enjoy it for a day & that's the one that goes in my tank. I don't have 3 tanks going though. Just 1.

But I am getting to the point where I'm wanting a coffee or tobacco type flavor in 1 tank & a dessert type flavor in another tank. so lately I've been going that route. The rest of the flavors that I like I use in a dripping atty just for variety.

The best way to taste a new juice is to use a dripping atomizer Cisco spec is my preference. It can be difficult to remove all the previous flavor from the wick on a Clearomiser like the Kangers and get a true sense of the flavor in the juice.

This is what I did - I have 4 tanks going most times, and sometimes I have something new, or just want a taste of something in my stash box, I have some strong flavors that I can't do all day. I've found, once they start running out, when you're reaching to refill, that's when you add the new stuff, and 3 puffs or so clears it.

I tell ya, using cotton in ProTanks, I'm getting more than two weeks so far on a cotton wick - no burning, full flavor, excellent draw. I figured I'd be swapping cotton enough to change flavors regularly...nope! When I do change flavors, it doesn't take cotton long to rewick with the new flavor!

I have 4-5 tanks, but I usually only keep one filled at a time. Almost all my juices are fruit flavors, so I don't bother with rinsing a coil unless it's gunky and needs a rinse. Most of the time I don't even bother dumping the old juice out of the tank unless its dark and thick. I just put the new flavor in on top of the old. The fruit flavors usually blend well together. If I was using several flavors that didn't go well together I'd do a more thorough cleaning or use a separate tank.

Before I went over to the REO I just sort of slowly over time collected numerous tanks. I was buying 1-2 a month. Eventually my Juice choices mostly settled down to about dozen and keeping one tank per flavor was easy. I still do that as I use the tanks on my ego batterys for driving I just don't have to refill hem very often.

At home I use my 2 REOs and changing flavors is a 2 minute process of unscrewing one bottle, blowing out the tube, changing the wick if necessary, and screwing on a new bottle. So I just keep a dozen 6 mL bottles of juice filled and ready.

Some flavors I do not vape enough to bother filling a tank or a REO bottle with. Those I just drip in one of my IGO-Ls when the desire takes me.

I only have one tank and like... Idk, maybe 10 different flavors. I just wash my tank every time I want to change the flavor.
I'm not into collecting devices so I prefer having one expensive but high quality gadget rather than having 10 cheap and no good tanks.

Just one bit of advice. You do need at least 2 of everything. 2 Batterys, 2 Tanks and 2 Chargers. Gear can and will break at the most miserable time possible. Even if it sits in a drawer until needed, it is best to have a backup.

I like my Kanger mini-pro-tank... do you have to make the coil with a cotton wick, or can you buy cotton-wicked coils?

You have to recoil them yourself in order to use cotton. It's really not that difficult and the flavor on a rebuilt head is vastly superior to using a stock head.

I'm also using a cotton wicked coil right now. You do have to make them yourself, or you can rewick a stock head or a previously built head. If I want to replace the current wick I just pull the old wick out with tweezers or something, the I use a little scrap of wire like a needle threader to pull a small bit of cotton ball through the coil. I use another bit of cotton ball for the flavor wick. You can't dry burn a cotton wick, so to dry burn you have to take the old wick out, then dry burn, then put a new wick in.

Yes, thank you - I found that out last night! I think I am also going to keep an extra battery, juice, disposable carto and a charger at work (and maybe even keep an "emergency vape kit" in my purse). It won't be cheap, but in the long run, if I really HAVE quit smoking, it will be more than worth the cost :)
