Well I just had my first "hey, can I bum a cigarette?" attempt since I started vaping -- coming out of Kroger, walking to the truck; I guess the cool/damp conditions are perfect for my cloud. It was DELIGHTFUL to say "I don't have any cigarettes -- this is an E-CIGARETTE!" and my husband going "She quit smoking months ago!"

Yeah, that's a special moment for sure. I recently took a trip and was vaping outside the airport in a couple of places. Twice I was asked for a light. I don't even carry a book of matches anymore.

ROFL!! Yesterday I noticed a wild thread on my pants... and was chagrined to realize I no longer have a lighter with me everywhere I go. :D

But it's weird... when he asked me if he could bum a smoke... I actually started reaching for my purse -- then it dawned on me, there are no cigarettes in there! Oh yeah, I don't smoke! Everytime that fact hits me, I just want to do this:

I dropped something on the ground at night a few weeks ago, the first thing I did was go for the lighter that always USED to be in my pocket..

This girl asked me a few days ago if she could bum a smoke. I held up my e-cig and with a huge smile said, "Nope, 70 somethin' days.."

It's a great feeling. I will usually tell them about my great vaping experiences.:vapor:

I probably would have, but I was already in the truck, so I just held it up and waved it at him -- it was pretty chilly out, yeah I know the northerners here would laugh at that, but I'm a southerner with thin blood, damp and chilly chills me to the bone! My husband was in the truck bed, putting the meats we bought back there in the truckbox to stay chilly while we went to Aldi to pickup milk, so he talked to him; I could hear him sayng, "yeah it's awesome, she stopped smoking months ago, uses an e-cigarette now." He's been a good vape ambassador with some ninnies at his work too, who were ragging on a guy who works there who also vapes -- in fact that guy gave me my very first cigalike, to see if I liked it -- I didn't, but it got me curious enough to go looking for more info. :)

A bunch of us were outside vaping at work (my wonderful city is one of those that regulates vaping like smoking, but I'm happy to say that 80% of the smokers in our office have switched). The space we use is a loading area in the alley out back and it's right downtown.

A very pretty young woman walking down the alley approached us and asked for a light. Reflexively, 5 guys in their 20's started patting their pockets, feeling for a lighter. Everyone stopped after 5 seconds and started to laugh. She spied the pv's everyone was holding, nodded, and said "I guess I'm the ...----, then".

Maybe it was because she was attractive and they were all single. Maybe it's because they're all good boys and they felt bad about having maybe embarrassed her. I don't know, but two of them, simultaneously, blurted out "Here, take this", and offered her their mods. Now, everyone, including the girl, laughed.

She huddled in out of the rain with us and the lads showed her their gear and let her try. She left promising to check out the local B&M and 5 sets of contact info... you know, just in case she needed someone to show her the ropes.

The boys were giddy about it for the rest of the day.

    Vaping 1, smoking 0.

Well, I sure smoked in public, so now I vape in public. I've had almost entirely positive reactions and interest, though some woman glared at me in the Walmart parking lot -- I took a big ol puff and smiled at her as I walked on by. Her problem, not mine. :D While sitting in traffic one day here in L'ville, the woman in the next lane started waving and thumbs-up at my mod; one guy saw me vaping in the parking lot of the dollar store, and said wow, that's a big e-cigarette -- thank goodness I had the Vamo in 18350 mode that day! :D He just wanted to know 1) if it worked, and of course I said yes, I've been smoke free for ___ (however long it was then), and 2) if it was as good as cigarettes, to which all I could say was "BETTER!" I think he may have driven to the nearest B&M at that point, he looked so excited. :D

Lots and lots of smokers down here are starting to get the message, and they seem to be really happy about it, nevermind what the idiot puritans think about it. :thumb:

In the area I live, several times somebody (usually an old guy) looks at me vapin and makes a comment to his buddies, something along the lines of "these kids and these electronic things". I just want to approach him and his buddies (who, 9.9 times outta 10, are smokin or chewin) and say something along the lines of "I'm not a kid and I'm savin money and I'm definitely gonna live longer than you now..", but I don't. I know what I know and that's all that counts. ;)

Between a few friends and my uncle, I always get asked, but when I pull out my e-cig they don't even have to hear me say anything before they realize I don't have any, nor will I have any soon lol. One my friends had bought a $70 kit a few years back, didn't like it for reasons i'll never understand, and went back to cigarettes up until recently, now he has a markten cigalike and actually likes it, even though i've told him it does not contain vg or pg, yet he swears by his life it has pg because of his throat hit, I've told him various ways he could get back into tanks and better VV/VW batteries for cheaper than the $70 he spent on a kit a few years ago. He still asks me for cigarettes every other time I see him lmao...
