I'd been vaping nicotine free grape stuff for about a week and generally had no problems. I bought some nicotine (80vg/20pg) premix to add to a doubler concentrate 50/50 ratio of 24mg to get a 12mg vape and now it leaves a burn in my throat and leaves a mild pain in my esophagus. It's a different flavour doubler I'm using so I dunno if it's the flavour or the nicotine but it's unpleasant AF and makes me cough my guts up. Is this sort of thing normal?
Also my coil is fine, it's primed and not burnt out. It was immediately after changing to this new stuff with nicotine.

did you smoke before vaping?
you stated you vaped a nic free juice

if you never smoked and only vaped nic free, then yes vaping anything with nic in it is going to be harsh especially 12mg unless you were a fairly heavy smoker before switching to vaping.

As well as if you were used to vaping at 80% vg and then mixed that with a 50% vg that's going to be harsh as well as you are vaping a higher level of pg then what you were used to
mixing the 80% vg with the 50% vg, even at half and half would put you somewhere around maybe 60% vg

typically higher vg = less harsh, smoother vape, but sometimes can cause a sort of heavy feeling/thick feeling in the mouth/lungs
typically higher pg = harsher, more throat hit vape, some people have reactions to pg as well...I myself am slightly allergic so I vape at max vg (90%+)

You never know when a symptom needs a doctor vs. a change of eliquid. It sounds like indigestion, or a bad eliquid, or a heart attack...
