I am pretty new to vaping and am experimenting with a PTB mod that is working well for the most part. However I am noticing that I am get a MASSIVE throat hit yet I exhale little to no vapor. If I do not inhale and just let the vapor escape my mouth there is noticeable vapor...not a ton, but noticeable. Its very strange since the throat I get is so massive (about 3 times in strength to a analog cig) that I expect a billow of smoke to be exhaled yet it is little to none. I am not sure the reason for this. Have I busted my atomizer? Has anyone else experienced this? Am I doing something incorrect?

Okay, I just cut some of my liquid with VG and the result is PHENOMENAL!!!!! I've only gone through one cart of it with with PTB mod but so far so good. TONS of vapor. Throat hit is reduced but it needed to be since before it felt like a freight train was going down my throat before. Also the VG makes it thicker so leakage is kept well under raps, no liquid in my mouth yet. Anyone who may have had the issue I had should try this, but since no responses, I guess no one has, haha.

Furious, the Sidesho is awesome and yeah, throat hit AND vapor are great for us... I still believe that the amount of vapor has a lot to do with specific flavors as well- I notice the sweeter type flavors seem to vape more than the cooler flavors, etc- Still a good vape amount though...
Also, don't forget, you are not "dragging" this just like a cigarette
Start out w/ a couple slow, short pulls (like a cigar) to heat up the atty when you first start to vape- then you can do a few long drags and still I do a little slow, long ones (like it enhances the flavor too) Then I vape the rest of my drags as I do a cigarette- kind of...

You will find it is a pretty nice unit
BTW, the Sidesho is our first along w/ the Dragon (we got them both within a couple days of each other)- First vaping experiences and we couldn't be happier!

Thanks for the response. I love this thing! I've just been tinkering here and there trying to get the right combo. Thanks for the tip on dragging. I noticed that I start our dragging correctly but when the juice starts tapering off and needs refilling I begin inadvertently sucking harder and faster. I don't even know that I do it so I'm just getting a system down like we had for analog cigs. You know how the cig would go down to the filter, than you knew, okay pull out another one (well thats what I would do) and then pull out the lighter and light it.
I hope no one misunderstands, I love this unit. I'm not that experienced in ecigs yet, but I know quality, and this is it. What I'm doing though is trying to duplicate the analog smoking experience exactly. And so far every desire has been met except figuring out how to vape throughout the day on the go without having to stop and fill carts at some point. This is not really an issue for the sidesho, its an issue for the E cig in general. I'm just posting my findings and questions here because the Sidesho is my unit and what may work well for the sidesho may not be good advice for the 510 and so on.
I just ordered an Edobit and I'm gonna take that out with my sidesho and see how that is. I think its gonna be a marriage made in heaven.

I got same problem with my 801 adapter..... I take drag in mouth, exhale plenty of vapor....... Inhale in lungs and no vapor on exhale......
Don't have this problem with my 510 or 901..... Got me baffled......

What I found is that it was the juice. Once I cut my PG based juice with VG the vapor production was unbelievable. My Sidesho was producing clouds that were even better than analog cigs. Try to cut your juice with VG, but make sure you start out small because cutting with VG will reduce your nicotine and flavor the more you add to your PG based juice. Or you could purchase already prepared VG based juice from many websites.
Give it a shot, the result for me exceeded expectation.

Vapor is partially absorbed in the lungs during an inhale. That can explain why you would have less vapor from an inhale to the lungs as opposed to a mouth inhale only. The vapor has time to condense and dissapate during the long journey down and back up.

VG will noticabley increase vapor volums, but often will reduce throat hit.

To realize excellent throat hit AND vapor production, I recommend you try a high-voltage device. Whether a DIY or commercial device, 6 volts, in particular, really kicks .....

Breakfastchef...... am using 6 volt GG Transformer....... The 510 and 901 give great exhale vapor...... Only the 801 gives no exhale vapor....... Any other ideas......

The SLB 801 does tend to produce less vapor than other penstyle atomizers. I always recommend the BE112 from BestEcig as my overall favorite. I also like the Janty JKBC-304, but the price is rather high. If the 801 is your only laggard, take the leap of faith and order up a few BE112's.
