So I am interested on what throat hit depends? Is it nocotine level, pg percent, vg percent or what? I got kit with sampler of 18 mg nocotine and 12 mg level and I see that some of them are really strong on throat. I gave my cig to friends and parents to try it out and all of them who are older then 45+ cant smoke it. They vape it in and then when they need to put vape out of lungs they all look like on death and have terrible cough for 30 sec lol. It seems like it is too strong for them even for 2PAD smokers. Or their lungs and everything is sensitive to vape after 30 years of smoke. If someone can give some information on it. My dad really like this concept and i see he is happy i bought it as I really like it and didnt have smoke for 30 hours. But this liquids seems to be too strong with 12 and 18 mg for him and i thoiht to buy kit him for birthday as he smoke a lot. But like this it is too hard for him not to get cough for 30 secs.

PG is going to increase the TH. Nicotine's slightly "peppery" taste can enhance it too. VG will diminish TH...but gives lots of vapor. PG is good for flavor and the TH. Voltage can also make a difference. The higher the voltage..the more likely the vape is going to be harsher.

My husband didn't have much luck starting out with high nic juice when he first started. He smoked about 30+ years. When he started using the 3.6 Volt X2s he was FINALLY able to completely give up cigs. Something he'd been trying to do with another e-cig for over 6 months. He also went down a bit on nic...from 24 to 12. After he adjusted to the vapor, he went back up to 18.

I smoked 43 years. I quite smoking the day I got my first e-cig kit....a year ago on Sept. 29th ! I started at 18mg. and have worked down now to 5mg. But I still vape like a steam engine! lol!!!

A pet peeve of mine here...

PG will NOT increase TH. It's better worded, that it will allow more TH than VG because VG tends to mask both TH and flavor due to its viscosity. PG vaped on it's own gives ZERO TH.

Higher voltage gives a warmer vape aping an analog to some extent. Also, at higher voltage we burn more e-liquid per drag... that equates to a better TH as well.

Exactly, I have found through quite a bit of experimenting with DIY mixes that TH is more or less directly related to nicotine level and voltage. If you vape PG or VG or a mix of either you won't get any noticeable throat hit until you approach 4+ volts and if you don't have VV equipment then you need to increase the nicotine percentage. YMMV

Interesting. As a newbie I was advised to get a BIG batt and LR cartos. I did. Whoa!! There was way too much TH for me. I smoked for many years, but I discovered that a lot of TH was not what I was looking for. I stay away from dual coils and LR.

Yes. Your mileage will indeed vary!!!!! I vape a 85/15 PG/VG DIY menthol. It's 5mg. It has PLENTY of throat hit...and I mostly vape around 3.4 to 3.7 volts. TH is important to me. I've always vaped heavily on the side of PG as the higher percentage...even vaping what is called "pure PG" and have never had issues with TH...even at lower nicotine and lower voltage. I smoked 43 years 2 to 3 PAD. I've been vaping now for a year. Like you said. YMMV !!!!!!
