When I started this 3 weeks ago I thought I could just read a thread asking "which juices taste the best", then be able to make my buying decisions based on which flavors other people really liked. Well, that has been a dismal failure for the most part, so I've kinda given up on relying on other peoples' opinions when I look for good tasting juices.

But I think(hope) asking people which juices give best throat hit will be a little less subjective and a lot more objective! I just got a new batch of juices from the Plume Room, and I like the Summer Peach, but it seems to have no noticeable throat hit on my Ego with the standard atomizer, which is the best method I have for tasting new flavors because I can completely clean it out to remove any residue of the previous juice. However, I've noticed that 'some' tobacco flavors have good throat hit even on the Ego atomizer.

I dont have enough experience to make the next claim with 100% certainty, but I think that nicotine levels arent the only aspect of e-liquid that gives you throat hit, although nicotine does play a role. For instance the Summer peach liquid is 12mg/ml and gives no throat hit on the Ego, yet I have a DIY blend of e-liquids and concentrated DIY flavors that is around 15mg/ml and it gives great throat hit. The difference between those 2 liquids I am comparing cant just be the extra 3% nicotine that is causing the throat hit to be so much better. It must also be related to the strength of the flavor too.

Thats kinda what I am looking for here, is which e-liquids give good/great throat hit without needing a high nicotine concentration? I dont want to have to increase my nicotine ratio from about 12mg to 24mg just for decent throat hit. If my current DIY blend can give great throat hit at 15mg/ml, then when I mix a new batch later this week I am going to lower it to about 10mg/ml to see if I can still get the throat hit with lower nicotine levels. I ordered the e-liquids I use to make my DIY blend in lower nicotine concentrations so I can lower it, and if I lose too much throat hit, I can always add some drops of my 72mg/ml nicotine to bring it up a bit.

So which juices have you tried that have great throat hit without needing high nicotine concentrations?

PG = throat hit
nicotine = throat hit

Raise one or both to increase throat hit.

But its not always that simple from my experience. I have flavors that are 70/30 that have almost no throat hit, yet another flavor from the same company with the same nicotine level and also 70/30 has good throat hit. I think that strength of flavor or flavor type plays a role in this too.

While this is true, it does have it's limits. I'd say try Halo flavors. No one really can tell why some 18 mg juices don't have it and why some 12 mg juices do (given the same ratio), but if you ever want the thump, go 24 mg+. You could always do like what I do, designate a time and a place for the high nic and let it rip! Then back off of it by dripping the same flavor with low nic.

PG will always be your throats friend, or better yet, nemesis.

Yeah, I tried the Torque 56, Freedom juice and menthol ice. I was only able to get them at Indy vapor Shop at 24mg, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with their throat hit, but I would think they would have great throat hit at 12mg. which is why I have 30ml of Freedom juice coming tomorrow in 12mg/ml from Halo. I am going to re-make my blend with Freedom juice(12mg), Totally Wicked's tobacco(24mg), Aromaejuice's Nuport(0mg), Vaping Zone's honey flue cured DIY flavor concentrate(0mg) and PG and Vg.

Last time I made that same recipe I used the same ingredients, but the TW tobacco e-liquid was in 36mg instead of 24mg, and the Halo Freedom juice was 24mg instead of 12mg, so instead of ending up with a final product at 15mg like what I have now from the 1st batch, I'll probably end up with 9-10mg. with this batch. I'll add a bit less diluent at first just in case I have to add a little extra nicotine liquid(72mg) to adjust it.
