I think inconstancy is something you're going to find a lot of in these devices until the tech behind the delivery system matures some more.

I've found inconsistencies and finickiness with all my devices. Play with the wicking material. I've been able to get mine just right at times and completely drain a cart with a nice throat hit on every drag. Other times, I'll get 5 drags out of it before the taste changes and the hit goes away.

I've learned to take a bottle of juice with me wherever I go and top off a lot.

You won't have the inconsistencies if you get a premiere devices or at least it will be MUCH less inconsistent and MUCH better throat hit. I also agree with Riot that your nic strenght is quite low. I also vape 24mg. Many on here vape 36mg. I would suggest you invest in a Prodigy (5 volts) or a GG (6 volts) to get that consistent throat hit. Plus the batteries only cost $2 and last about 5-6 hours on a charge. Due to the cheap batteries, they basically pay for themselves. Another nice feature is you don't have to mess with all of those "tricks" to get your better devices to vape consistently well.

Have found it's definately the "throat hit" I'm after more than anything else. I'm using a 510, but am finding the "hit" inconsitant. Any advice?
So far I'm having the best luck right after I've started using a fresh battery and rejuiced (I'm using 11mg). But it's down hill from there fairly quickly.

If you're best hit is after rejuicing then you're vaping off the top of the cart and then the juice has to wick back up to the top in order to get a similar hit. You might 'fluff up' the filler but not above the top of the cart. What the others say is right - mods with more batt power will do it, but in this cig style the 510 is rather known for it's throat hit and vapor production so try this:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11421-cart-mod-better-refilling.html

This helps the flow within the cart where you'll get more drops into the cart when topping off and the airflow helps with the wicking up of the juice. More mgs of the nicotine would help as well.
