In regards to the juice itself: nic level, pg/vg and flavor all play a roll in throat hit. Obviously higher nic levels give better TH...PG liquid gives a much better TH than VG liquid...Menthol flavors (generally) give more throat hit than other flavors, though this differs per supplier/batch etc. Obviously other flavors will have varying TH as well.

Do a search of the forum (google search at the bottom is much more comprehensive than the built in forum search) for more info. This question has been asked MANY times i'm sure, and there are much better answers previously posted than most people are willing to put the time into these days.

From my experience, the atty also plays a role. Actually probably the production batch and perhaps even the individual device within the same model. I've noticed very different throat hits for instance with different M401 atties ordered at different times, all other elements equal.

I don't know, other models may be more consistent on the throat hit.

Its not completely what you were asking but I think technique plays a roll as well. Would anyone else agree with me? The length of the inhale, the way you hold it, the strength of the inhale, also play a factor in getting the coveted throat hit.

From my experience, technique only comes into play with TH if you have one of the small, low power devices. And it can provide only a very small difference and inconsistency will still be present. The difference in TH between the analog size PV's and a 5 or 6 volt device is significant.

I would say technique has much to do with it especially as someone said, on the smaller pvs. I have an Evo and was drawing on it like a normal cig and getting more frustrated cos i wasn't getting enough vapour and also a consistant TH. I now quite often smoke it like you would a pipe...lots of small puffs that take in air as well and the TH is fantastic. Maybe it doesnt work with all types of pv but certainly does for me! I'm vaping at 20mg Ecopure Regular.

I see. Seems like I'm getting the mild throat hit when I obtain a large ammount of nic given on the refils or cartiges. I noticed when I had low nic it was smooth, but for the super high nic it was a big difference.

I have coffee flavor and it's semi smooth with very little throat hit, so I'm assuming that it has something to do with the ingrediants, and I look foward to learning more about throat hit and or smooth intake.

I prefer the smooth intake because it reminds me much like a hookah (like the "pink" brand), and I feel the buzz smoothly taking as much inhale without limiting myself from the throat hit. Is that the reason why some throat hits are given? To be limited on intake of nic levels or am I missing something from the big picture?
