I have been using Smoktech cartos which I purchase from Ibanked. They have been great. The draw is very nice and smooth. I have had 2-3 out of 30 or so that were bad or went bad on me. But for the last 2 days I have used 4 cartos 2.0hms ( 2 XL and 2 Standard ) and all 4 have a very tight draw. To me it is not the normal draw that I am accustomed to. Did I just get a bad batch? Is it safe to continue vaping on them even though the draw is very tight?

By the way, the priming was all done correctly via Baditude's method and I see bubbles come up so the juice is feeding into the cato. Not sure what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have done nothing different to change the variables (changed juices, changed priming method, enlarged/added holes, changed resistance, etc) then it must be a bad batch. This can be expected from any of the three carto brand manufacturers, although from some less than the others.

The only other thing I can think of is air flow to the cartomizer connector. If your tank is screwed on too snug and you battery device's connector doesn't have air slots in it, it could restrict the air flow resulting in a tight draw.

I've had great experience with the Ikenvape cartos, only one dud and another that was harsh from the beginning. Having said that I know a couple of people have tried them based on my recommendation and they didn't care for them at all.

OP, I've had this happen when I used the carto too long- usually. It was always the center tube clogging. Just wiggle a thin needle up thru it gently ( coil).

Once you get the needle all the way in, wobble it around to open the tube and dislodge the gunk. Then blow it out well.

You should be able to hold it up to the light and see thru it.

Thanks guys. The devise is a mini Provari. Never had this issue before on the Provari. This means it has to be a bad carto. As for the the center, it clear and not clogged up. But thank you for the tip, it may come in handy some day.

This really sucks because it seems with cartos it's a risk. I can't tell if its a bad carto till I waste juice and prime it. How come no company has stepped it up and created solid cartos? Honestly I am willing to pay tripple for better cartos that work well, last long, with barely any DOA's.

P.S. I tried the grand daddy of cartos, ikenvape. Bad batch with those also.

No I haven't tried Boges. Funny you mention it because I just placed an order to try Boges before coming back here. I heard they had some quality issues as well in the past. But I figure let me try them and see what happens. Some times what works for someone doesn't work for someone else and vise versa.

I just wish a company would make a solid carto.

Guys, I just thought of something. Before I fill the tank with juice, can I place the primed carto on my tank, cover the 2 punched holes with my finger and vape on it to see if it vapes well? Not sure if that will work but it will save me the hassle of filling a tank and finding out I have a bad carto.

    Well, sure you can.

Using another PV would narrow things down also.

    Good luck, and good nite.....

No, the rubber cap was removed. I prime via tooth pick method Baditude taught me. I appreciate your follow up though. Thank you.

Thinking about it, I well come those Boges. While it may not solve my quality expectations I figure I will use the Smoktech for thicker juices and the Boges for thinner juices.

I get that tight draw from any carto with the 2 tiny prepunched holes. I much prefer the single larger prepunched hole.
I don't think Smoktech makes one like that. (if I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct me) Only Boge and Ikenvape offer them that way.
I just got my order of both Ikenvape and Boge single coil carto with the 1 large hole. They are both working great. I can't detect a difference between them yet.

So, in short, for me, hole size does matter:blink:

You can get the ones with 1 large hole at fasttech for 1.35 each if you buy 5 or more and Hoosier has a great selection of them with up to 3 holes.. they work grest for me.. I use the 3 hole 3.0ohm single coils with my vamo2 and I use the dual coil 2.5ohm 3 hole with everything else. . Hope this helps :)
