Oh, back on topic, but I too am in an eternal struggle to thin down the herd.

I go and look through and sell things, but then it seems something beautiful rears its purdy head in the classifieds or someone will gift me something and that starts me off on a new quest for spares and back ups and there I am again, with a drawer of boxes full of beautiful mechs and spares.

Many times I will miss something that I sold or traded or gifted and I end up buying another and it starts all over again.

Im sick... I need help, but .... I think Im just going to go with the flow from now on. I think I jinx myself every time I say , no more....

PS, I guess its better than hoarding cats......

This is getting all to complicated for me, and time consuming. Man, I didn't realize that this would be so difficult. I have 18 different mods in use with as many different juices, a mix of diy, and ready made juices. I had hoped to get the rotation down to about 5 or 6 devices, but that is not going well, as it seems it's going to be about 9 devices. I keep looking at all of them, then I'll see another, and think, well, what about this one. Hopefully I can hold it to 9 devices with the mix of diy and ready made juices.
I'm not ready to quit vaping, just make it simpler. Well, back to it.
I know what you are going through. I was supposed to have family visit so I cleaned and stored all but 2 of my mods and tanks. I then heard of a mod for a ridiculous price. So I ordered one. I was pifed some Kayfuns and started using them. Well, I needed another TC mod. I am back up to 5 mods and tanks. Oh well, I really need the mods and tanks. May just one more or two.

Yes, and I do have another hobby that has gone ignored to long. I have been wanting to do another model railroad set up, and now I have decided to take that on. Over the last 6-7 years vaping has just taken over, now it's time for it to back off a little. :)
I have an N-Rail set up in the garage. Summer has been too hot to use it. No pics at this time.

When you can get to it, post some pics. I'm just getting a table worked out in my hobby room, so it will be awhile before I have anything to show.

Miniature railroading is so great, as are trains in general. My kiddo was obsessed with trains, and we'd go to the Baltimore train museum weekly-- it was a great deal of fun. Ellicott City always had a miniature train museum that would go crazy at Christmas, too. I have gotten a bit obsessed with vaping and need to remember there are other fun things too, many of which I did today, and enjoyed (as well as that last bit of fall sunshine).

Here are a couple pics of my last endeavor, had to tear it out way before finishing. This one will have a similar look, and be much smaller. Fortunately I kept all my rolling stock, which is N gauge.
    Nice!
I enjoyed scratch building/weathering buildings, until the eyes got too bad for N-scale and toothpick size lumber. Found out it was a good investment tho. Had 7 Rivarossi steam engines I bought new for $70 in the early 80s, sold on E-bay for $350+ each.
Look forward to pics of your new layout.

Moving and living in a temporary place for a month cured me...I had to thin it all down, as most was packed away. Right now I have five mods going, what I do now is when it's time to change out a coil in my Kabuki or Mini Triton, that mod goes into a box and I bring out a fresh one, whichever catches my eye...
The couple REOs that I keep going, when I get tired of one, I run it dry and clean it up, and pop another into the rotation, only need two or three of them running at a time. Best for me to clean them before pulling its replacement into service, they stay neater that way. Good luck! If you start spending more time on your train hobby, you'll probably find you gravitate towards just a couple mods anyways.

Kinda like I'll be doing it probably. All of my mods are favorites for one reason or another. Just because I put one away, doesn't mean I'm thru with it, just that it's resting for awhile till I wanna change it up a bit.

I just put up my eGo batteries, X10 tanks, and unused iClear16's and threw away all of the vivi Nova junk. Not to mention the DeKang tobacco juices at 24mg(!) and bottles of label-less stuff that I mixed so long ago their contents escape me.

Now I have only 10 devices outside of the "gadget box" and 18 tanks. One does not just throw this stuff away, unless it doesn't work or never worked the way it was supposed to. Like that damned leakmonster, the DCT Carto Tank.

That thing still drive mt blood pressure nuts.

You can probably rig up a small vape in the stack of the engine. Use the rail voltage to power it and have it vape around the track.

I've been working on the same job for a few months now. I've got down to 6 tanks. 3 KFLs, 2 Lemos and a Nautilus. One KFL has 2 air holes, one has 1 air hole, and the third is a shorty. One Lemo and one Drop. So they are all different, means I can keep a file on the computer showing what juice is in each and don't have to stick labels on them.

With a smaller number it's easier to keep track of wicks and coils as well.

I do have a handful of Pro Tanks ready to go if I want to try some different juice.

I also got a plastic tub under the desk with all the junk in. Stuff like ohm reader, wire, etc. I have a nice looking stand that holds 9 small juice bottles and another stand that holds all the mods and tanks, plus a rack for batteries and a battery charger. That's all I keep on my desk now. Everything else is in plastic tubs under the bed. After years of my desk overflowing with vaping gear. It's a good feeling actually.

It wasn't easy to do though. Hard to put stuff in the boxes, and bits and pieces kept creeping back onto the desk. It takes persistence. It's worth it. Good luck.
I also vape about 7 different juices, so have 7 set ups, I have each with a different color drip tip and know by color what juice is which

That would work too. I got fed up with labels. I used return address labels cut in half so they were narrow enough to fit on the metal part of a tank. But they didn't stick well enough so I put Scotch tape over them. After a while juice always got under the tape and it would come loose, then the paper labels would start disintegrating. Eventually there would only be a couple of letters left to give me a clue what the flavor was. And they looked crappy. Much better not to need labels.

Life gets much better when you standardize, at least it did for me. I settled on one juice. I have about 9 devices scattered about. Some in my office, one in the car, one in my scooter bag, another in the basement and one on the porch. But they are all essentially the same: a Mech mod running a 1.25 coil on a similar easy build atty like the Achilles or Prometey. Total maintenance beyond cleaning them occasionally and rebuilding coils and wicks has been replacing 1 O-ring in the last two years.

It took me a while to find the different dt's to fit and match but now I have it all memorized. For instance, my blk cherry tobacco has a blackish dt and my dragons fire juice has a red dt, so I tried to associate the juice with a color and it works great.....

Could see myself headed in that direction. Back when I dabbled in DIY flavors early last year, there was a moment when I thought, ya know, this is an endless consumption of time, effort and money in hopes of finding an ever elusive perfect vape. I knew at that moment where I was headed and changed course. I figured I'd give non-flavored a try. The very essence of vape without the flavors to hide behind. If I couldn't stand that, I likely would never find the perfect flavor. I don't relish non-flavored PG/VG or enjoy it as much as I did smoking but neither am I caught up in a never ending chase, nor will I ever be and I believe (at least for now) it is healthier than smoking. I tossed ... yes, threw away ... every flavor I had except some menthol crystals that I figured would be handy for when I had a cold or sinus issues (which I get every few years or so), not necessarily to vape, and some ethyl maltol as a buffer/sweetener, that I've used once since to take the edge off non-flavored high nic.

Then too there were the mods. I'd tried eLeaf, Aspire, Innokin and others. I was building somewhat of a collection. A mod for every purpose. This one will be good for outside, that one will be perfect on my desk, won't this one be just the best for travel, this one is the one I need for shopping, don't know what I'd do if this one weren't on my nightstand in case I awake in the night and want a vape (never have), etc etc. Then there was a moment when I though, ya know, this is an endless consumption of time, effort and money in hopes of finding an ever elusive perfect mod for every ocassion. I knew at that moment where I was headed and changed course. Besides, I'd found ProVari and realized I could be happy with just that and a Kabuki. I tossed ... yes, threw away ... every mod and coil I had except the ProVari mods and a couple of e-leaf TC60Ws (without the tanks) just because they were the first mods I ever bought and had room in the closet for them.

Recently, this summer I discovered Billet Box was a sweet spot. I now have only 3 mods going a day. All non-flavored, all with 1.8ohm Aspire coils, all set to the same wattage. Both Billet Boxes live on my desk because I tend to chain vape once I get going. I vape one then the other at times. Both are set up the same and vape the same. The third mod is always a ProVari in the kitchen to grab while headed out the door with the dogs or to the store or just cooking and piddling around the kitchen.

Ideally I will narrow the daily mod down to one. Apparently that day isn't today.

Now you're just trying to make me feel bad. I did just toss all my old store bought juice, about 20-30 bottles, that have been lying around for years. And with deeming being pushed back I'll soon be on the prowl for a dinky stealth mod. Does that count for anything?

BTW, finally figured out the photos you post are your own photography. Very nice work! :thumb:

@oplholik There is an independent hobby store several town over that has a really nice train setup in their window. It's big. They also have a little gondola that runs from near the tracks up to a "mountain top." Pretty cool. Just a thought.

I just line up the mods on my desk with their 30ml refill bottle next to the mod so I know what is in each tank. If they get shuffled around too much and I forget which is which I just take a vape.
