Curious to put a time line to the various pv models like the pre-901s, kr808s, egos etc.Hoping some veterans can chime in here and fill in the blanks with what I have. Information on older models before 2009 needed especially.

I just think this would be kind of cool to be able to see and to also show those new to vaping how much progress weve made since the early days.

I think that would be interesting! I didn't hear about PVs ("e-cigs") until 2011. Hadn't a clue. Started using them in the Fall of 2011...so the "oldest" model I have is a RN4081 ..Safe Cig. Then I hopped over to KR808D-1....unsealed automatic. It's moved on from there. Hope there is some veteran out there who still has examples of all the old models and can take a side by side "timeline" pic of them all...explaining the differences or something!

I know I've seen a post somewhere on ECF with this information, at least one post. But, I can't find it at the moment. I'll post it later if I find it/them. And, if anyone finds it first, I would really like the link, pretty please.

In the meantime, I'll tell you what I think I know. I don't know about the dates; but, from what I understand:
  • The 801 came first, then the 901 and 808, then the 510, then the eGo-style fat batts.
  • Atomizers with cartridges came first, then cartomizers, then clearomizers, then tank systems.
Here's my list of the basic types:

Penstyle
DSE 801, RN 4072, BE 112, Joye 302, M201

Mini
DSE 901, RN 4075, Joye 510, M401, DSE 108, KR 808's

Super Mini
RN 4081, Joye 306, M403, L88, DSE 8084

Then there are the Pipes (DSE 601) and the Cigars (DSE 701 and RN4062). I have no idea where they fit into the progression.

I wish I could find my old Ruyan to throw in to this, as far as I know they were the first e-cigs brought to the US. I can't remember what the threading on it was, just that it was a 3 piece mini and it was terrible.

Ecigs were terrible back in those days. It was so terrible that just thinking of the taste now turns me off.

Juices were not mixed properly. Most are prefilled cartridges. A single battery wouldn't last more than an hour. Juices leak into your mouth every time. The atty decides to auto clean itself once it awhile going into burn mode that will give u a strong burnt taste after.

Oh god, it was terrible, it was expensive and I'm glad that the community continued to innovate on the technology to what we have now.

There's a good reason I abandoned vaping for 5 years or so, and it sounds like you know what I'm talking about.

I was amazed when I gave it another try recently. People talk a lot of trash when it comes to the current gen disposables, but even those are way better than the terrible early models

...

What kinda Blows my mind was how there was So Little Choice.

Nicotine came in Mild, Medium and High and it was All 100% PG. And e-Cigs were much Better.

I remember when the New Thing was the "Cart-O-Mizer". Man... People went Ape Crazy not having to use a Cart and an Atomizer.

LOL
