ok i dont know if it is common knowledge i found this out by accident
i refill my cartomizers and some times i feel like the vapor volume goes down
so today i opened a paper clip and passed it through the cartomizer in one end out another and cleared the passage
and whoa it is like an unclogged drain. quite pleased with myself and my discovery
wanted to share

I've actually killed two boges doing that...but it was really my own fault for being a bit too aggressive with the wire. I even tried passing a needle with some thread through there but the fibers in the thread just tangled up in the coil and ended up ripping it out. If I could just find some super small diameter pipe cleaners with soft bristles, I think that would do an even better job with the gunk.

Don't try this tip with horizontal coil cartos though. Jam a paper clip through there and you can dislodge the heating coil, causing it to touch and burn the filler, or break the very thin wires connecting it to the post.

For other types of cartos where the passage is clear, how about dental brushes from the dollar store? ;)

McMaster-Carr has some really small diameter nylon brushes that I've used on cartos. The one that fits best is about 1/16" diameter and and 4" long overall. It was about $4, shipping was $5 as I recall.

Most of the time I just use a long 18 gage syringe needle. If that doesn't do the trick, the carto's about done for anyway.
