Hi, I'm relatively new to vaping and my new kit came in. The kit comes with 2 manual 280 mAh batteries and it has LR dual coil cartos. I'm looking for quick tips that will help me get the most out of each of my cartomizers and how to avoid burning up the stuff inside the cartos.
I think I might have went a little too far with my first carto that I was using and I didn't expect it to run out so fast, so it ended up tasting a little funny. Is it because LR DC cartos tend to use up the juice quickly, meaning I have to refill them more often? Also, how do I know when to stop puffing with a manual battery before it's too late?

Any other tips regarding the use of manual batteries will be much appreciated.

You really shouldn't use anything low resistance on 280 mah batteries. Yes, they will burn the cartos and if they don't damage the battery it will definitely lower your battery life.

Did they come with a kit you purchased?

You should stick with standard resistance cartomizers (3.0). I have heard some people that use 2.5 but they're difficult to find.

You get about an hour of continous vaping per 100 mah. With your battery and standard resistance cartomziers, that's around 3 hours. 1/2 that with LR cartomizers.

When flavor drops off top off your cartomizer with more e-liquid. If you wait too long you will burn the cartomizer and they have to be thrown away.

That is very strange that they would sell a 280 Mah 510 kit with dual coil carto's. I have always heard you shouldn't use dual coils or lower than 2 ohm on any battery lower than 450 Mah. Maybe those batteries are specially designed to handle dual coils? Here is a link to recommended resistance. http://www.madvapes.com/Recommended-Resistances_b_57.html

The mAH rating of a battery is relative to the amount of charge that a battery has... not the voltage of a battery. Typically most batteries are going to be running at 3.7 volts. The battery has enough power to run the dual coils but it is likely that 2 coils will drain the battery quicker than a single coil cartomizer would. A basic rule of thumb with mAH (milli Amp Hours) is 100mAH = 1 Hr of runtime. Now this number is not set in stone because there are so many factors that come into play when calculating how long a full charge will take you. I would guess that you could get 1.5-2 hrs of actual vape time (time when it is on and the battery is being drained) with a dual coil setup.

The chart that was posted lists the voltages that are recommended and generally speaking if you are running a standard 3.7v battery the Low Resistance cartos are the way to go. Standard Resistance cartos are better for devices that have a variable voltage setting that allows them to take the battery to voltages higher than 3.7v.

The funny taste is likely the carto running dry and you burning the filler. It happens to all of us. If you stop it right away you can probably still use the carto without it affecting the taste. Well I personally use a 5 second rule for taking puffs. I will take a drag for no longer than 5 seconds, and wait 5 seconds before taking another. This ensures that the coil doesn't get too hot, and the wait allows the coil to cool down a bit before you fire it up again. Do this a few times then give the coil a good 30 sec rest to really cool back down. That's what I personally do. Everyone ends up with their own system for this though so yeah...

Also going to post a video I found earlier about filling a cartomizer, this is the exact method I have used and it ensures the entire carto is saturated with juice (which gives you the most vape time in-between refills)

I agree.

But the price is good and there is a 6 month warranty on the batteries, which is almost unheard of.

I'd still pick up some 3.0 or 2.5 cartos for a little longer battery life.
