Tips or advice for a Canadian Newbie?

It looks like a lot of parts but you don't use them all at once.
You have 2 batteries and 7 clearomizers. You'll only use 1 battery and 1 clearomizer at a time. Or 2 and 2 if your husband wants to try it.
You fill the clearomizer and simply thread it on to the top of the battery.

eGo batteries have larger threads on the outside (eGo threading) and smaller threads on the inside (510 threads). With clearos that have 510 threads, the Vivi Nova for example, you can use the eGo Thread Cover on the battery before attaching the clearomizer. It is not necessary, just cosmetic. In some cases it will help support the clearo.

SR and LR heads are Standard and Low Resistance heads or more specifically the coil of wire in the head. Lower resistance and higher voltage from your twist will heat the head faster and hotter. Remember Ohm's law, I = V/R?
Skip to the bottom for a refresher course.
You'll have to experiment with what you like best.

You have plenty of hardware for both you and hubby to get started.
My wife thought she was happy with just an eCig device until I got an eGo passthrough battery and clearomizer. Now she wants to use it all of the time. I'm fine with that. It just gives me a reason to order more stuff to try. I ordered a mini eGo battery and an EVOD clearomizer for a stealthy setup for myself at work.

Ohm's law, vapers edition.
Current (I) amperage = Voltage divided by Resistance. So if your twist is set at 3.2 (V)olts using a 2.0 ohm (R) coil (head) the current is 3.2/2.0 = 1.6 Amps. If you set the twist at 4.0 Volts and use a 2.5 ohm coil you have the same result, 4.0/2.5 = 1.6 Amps.
Standard eGo batteries are rated at 3.7 Volts (actual is lower) and most standard clearomizers are about 2.8 ohm. 3.7/2.8 = 1.32, obviously lower than 1.6. The higher the amperage the shorter the life of the coil.
A 650 mAh battery means it will supply 6.5 amp hours of use. 1 amp = 100 milliamps. If you have your device using 1.6 amps on a 650 mAh battery you should get 4+ hours of use.

Sorry about the school lesson on a Sunday. :)
Thank you so much for the explanation! The reason I was so confused was because all of the pieces I searched on youtube looked the same and I thought that couldn't be right! LOL I was thinking all the parts were the guts of the clearomizer and I would need to assemble it (did I mention I'm new and clueless? ;) ). I had upgraded my kit to the 1000mAh batteries because I really would like to just be able to use it all day without worrying about it. Hubby will probably "try" it out and if he decides he likes it, I'll order him his own kit (I don't like sharing LOL). I probably would go with a smaller kit though since he can try the various clearomizers from mine and decide what he likes from there. At this point though, he doesn't have much interest in it (he's also a hard core 2 PAD smoker). I'm thinking he may try mine out at times that it's really inconvenient to go out for a smoke or purely out of curiousity.

Hello! it's great that you've made the decision to switch! If you're looking for a cheap way to get started most ecig websites have starter kits that you could order from. Basically, all you would need to start vaping is a battery, the charger, tank (to hold the juice that you'll be vaping on in), cartridge atomizer otherwise known as a "carto", and a drip tip. I know this all seems like a lot but it's really not! I'll explain each piece to you and if you have any other questions feel free to private message me for more help!

So let's start off with your battery. The battery is basically what you'll need to start vaping there's many types that you can get but the best one I would suggest is called the Ego-c from Joytech and they come in a variety of colors. They are one of the best mass produced e-cig manufactures. And the charger for the battery can usually be found with the product.
Next you have your carto, you'll need this as its going to be your heating element as well as what will be producing your vapor. I would suggest getting a clearomizer and all that basically is a plastic tank with a cartomizer inside already along with a drip tip; all you would have to do is fill the tank with your juice of choice and screw it onto the battery.

Thanks sweetie! I've already got a handle on the hardware situation (thanks to the folks on here!). I ordered the ultimate ego twist 1000mAh kit from Canvape for using when I'm home and a much more discrete eRoll kit for when I'm out and about. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions when my order arrives so would love to be able to pick your brain! Fingers crossed my stuff all arrives today (it's currently in my city according to the tracking info!).
