Don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm also new to DIY and was wondering if anyone else has found that they get a sort of chemically aftertaste when mixing fruity blends.

I use 50/50 nic, usually make 50/50 blends with ejuicemeup as a calculator, and flavors from Wizard Labs.

I don't seem to have this problem when making hearty flavor blends, or sweet (not fruity). I've gotten some great sweet and hearty mixes, but every fruit I've done leaves a sort of chemical like aftertaste.

I think it's from the base flavor of the PG which seems to have a bittersweet flavor on its own...

A really big thanks to Hoosier for this tip: Use one drop of lemon juice. That's right the stuff in the plastic lemon container to your fruit mixes. The claim that it makes fruit flavors shine has been in my experience accurate.

I had a bottle of vendor blueberry that vaped well but had (again as Hoosier calls it) a "je ne c'est quoi" flavor to it. It was a 10ml bottle of basically worthless (to me) e-liquid so I added 2 drops of concentrated lemon juice my wife keeps in the fridge. It instantly improved it and after steeping it actually tastes good.

Again credit to Hoosier for this.
