USA. State: Inebriated.
I started off on an Igo-L, and then moved to a Chimbus (Nimbus Clone).

I'd say skip that noise, get an Infinite Tobh clone. Spacious deck, pretty decent post holes, quality stuff. In my opinion, rebuilding a Protank is miles harder than rebuilding on a spacious, open deck. Look up some basic microcoil videos (imo that's all you need, "clapton coil" et al is excessive and impractical) and get an ohm reader if you don't already have one.

Also keep in mind, rda's usually fire best on mech mods, but if you have a regulated mod capable of firing 0-30W (or more) you should be able to get an enjoyable vape out of it. You're gonna need to play around with resistances and settings (if you have a VV/VW device). That's part of the fun!

Hey Sarah... for me the Mutation X has been a great RDA and relatively inexpensive (25 bucks). Easy to build on too.
I have found my VW device works better than my mech MOD. It's nice to be able to dial in the wattage for your personal vape preference.

Good luck!

I'm with him. I don't have a Mutation X but I've seen a couple of reviews on it and it looks great, very adequate adjustable airflow (18 airholes in total!), spacious deck to work on (I started with an Omega clone and that thing was the hardest RDA to build on ever!), and best of all, its relatively cheap for an authentic or clone!

I agree with v1k1ng, you don't have enough power (watts) in the MVP to drive a big air chamber atty. IMO you need at least 15 watts for those and having 20 available is nice.

For the MVP I would try something more along these lines:

Authentic SmokTech Dripper RDA Authentic SmokTech RDA
RDA Mini Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer
Vision Eternity Rebuildable Atomizer
A PBusardo Review - Vision Eternity RBA

The first two are from Fasttech, but they can be had from the US also and there are a bunch more small RDAs like that on the market. All of these will perform very well at 1.5 - 2 ohms and 7-8 watts, so the MVP will handle them fine. The Eternity can also be used as a dripper or a small tank.

The problem is that the MVP2 only goes to 11w. You probably want a smaller, single coil rda or just stick with the protanks until you can upgrade your device.

Agreed. A kayfun/russian/fogger/lemo would be good at 11 watts. Drippers are a sub-ohm game.

If you're coming from protanks, you won't go wrong with an EhPro Kayfun Lite Plus v2. Order a quartz kit (or two...they're fragile) from fasttech as well. Plastic tanks are for chumps.

I started out with an UD IGO-W Plus, and it works fine. Still figuring out what coiling method and resistance to use, but that's half the fun.
I also got some free RDA from sigelei along with some other stuff. As I ordered the 20W mod after it went out of production, so i got the 30W and some other stuff for free, probably as a "sorry for the delay". But the sigelei RDA is hard to build on, in comparison with IGO-W. Now I'm waiting for my Eleaf Lemo RBA, as it's not really convenient enough to drip at work.
