Hi

I started vaping 3 weeks and 2 days ago and was smoking about 25 L&B a day for about 13 years. I now no longer smoke cigarettes which is amazing and I am so happy I found e-cigs as I have literally tried everything to get off normal cigarettes for years.

Now the only thing I have found is I feel extremely tired all of the time, I am using 12mg juice which I have been told is too low by someone who works at totally wicked (uk shop) but I feel fine on it as far as craving cigarettes go he said I should be on 24mg. I also feel slightly depressed which I think is mostly because I sleep so much now, I can sleep 12 hours and still feel tired when I wake up.

To be honest it isn't the end of the world as I feel good in so many other ways since quitting cigarette and theres no chance I am going back to them but it would be nice to know its just a phase. There are no other cravings/effects that I have noticed since quitting except for coughing which has now stopped.

My question is did anyone else go through this sleepy stage when they first switched and if so how long did it last?
Would it be worth upping the nicotine mg in my juice even though I am not craving cigarettes?

Hopefully somebody can help.

Thanks

There is nothing in e-liquid that would make you tired, the only thing that i can think of is dehydration. Propylene Glycol is a hygroscopic substance meaning that it attracts and holds water so it has a good ability to cause dehydration. Try upping your water or liquid intake to see if it reduces the tiredness. With regards to what the guy said to upping your nicotine level, he's taking rubbish. If you're not craving a cigarette using 12mg then there is no need to increase, it certainly won't help with the tiredness. More misinformed shop employees i'm afraid.

Let's not forget ALL the chemicals that were in the cigs and aren't in vapor liquids. You don't get the physical "rush" that you used to get from cigs anymore. As an aside........people with sleep apnea (I am one) often sleep for long periods without feeling rested. Just another avenue to explore :):vapor: On a cpap now and do just fine :)

Don't forget that "rule of 3's" -- 3 days, 3 wks, and 3 months are all big trouble spots when quitting smoking -- this could be the 3wk spot; at 3 wks, I didn't feel tired, but depressed, thought everyone hated me and wanted me gone. It passed within a week. Same thing at 3 months, but also felt some anger -- if they hated me and wanted me gone, that made me want to hurt them! :D That also passed within a week.

Thanks for all the replies,

I will up my water intake then and see if it makes a difference, to be honest since I quit smoking cigs I haven't been drinking as much sugary drinks too so maybe that has something to do with it as well. I used to drink a lot of coke.

The great thing is not once have I thought about a cigarette and I know from experience I get like this when I used to try and quit cold turkey which is why I thought it could be nicotine related but as I said I am not craving cigs anymore. Thanks again, I'll post in a few days with the results.
