I have a lanyard rig that's been working quite well for me that I got from somewhere on the net- basically have a tire gage clip attached to my atty and hung on a long leather lace as a lanyard/necklace kinda thing. I love this setup but I noticed the black paint finish on my battery and atty gets kinda raggedy looking from being scratched by the tire gage clip. I was wondering if maybe a "titanium" finish setup might have the scratches less noticeable? I just wanted to check with any of you that may have that color for input before buying- just in case of stupid purposes, such as maybe the silver may have a finish that may scratch in some other funky ways I might not be aware of.. :)

Anything will scratch, it will just be more noticeable with a painted battery. You could go with the titanium or a stainless steel if they have one, it will still scratch but perhaps not look so bad.

May I also suggest that you do away with the arrangement you are using and either get a leaford lanyard

Leaford Lanyard

or find a small flashlight holster that your cig can fit in.

The titanium is silver like stainless. There is no added color so if you scratch it, it is still titanium/silver color. I have also noticed my titanium atty's are made differently than some of the black ones with a washer. The titanium atty's I have look more like atty's from TW. Which I prefer, But I got mine from Anycig. They also came with whistle tip carts, which I thought I wouldn't like, but turns out is much better. I have also lost 2 black 510's but never a titanium.
So in my opinion, the titanium 510's are indeed better than the black. But I can only say this for the ones I purchased.

I have batts and attys in both titanium/platinum and steel. The steel ones I ordered are noticably brighter like silverware. Titanium/Platinum is like a plastic facsimile of silver if you get my meaning. Duller grey that has a little metallic paint look to it hope that helps.

When I compare the two side by side, the titanium has a very slight yellow tint to it that the stainless doesn't.
