Anyone have issues with e-juice eating the finish off the atomizers?

I've only had this happen with 1 of my black 510 atty's. I wonder if it was just a bad paint job to begin with...

I wonder that, too. It seems to happen with my 'stronger' flavored juices - Wintergreen, Spearmint and Teaberry - not so much with the milder flavors, however, so I do think it might be something in the juice?

I've seen some of that, but attributed it to the isopropyl alcohol I clean the attys in. I'd read elsewhere that was a problem. How do you clean yours?

I got the juice and attys in the same order and the eating of the finish happened right away, lol. As for cleaning them, I haven't really done much. DH blows them out with an air compressor and I swab the battery connection ends with an alcohol Q-tip every couple of days, but that's about it. (I've only had them about 3 weeks, tops.)

When I get a leak, I notice it right away because the finish actually BUBBLES UP. It's definitely the e-juice.

I have also had a few attys lose all their paint in ISO Alcohol. Just a thought: Some flavors have PGA (ethonol) in them. Also, where did the paint start to bubble 1st, the threaded end, or the cart end? Threaded end is the ISO from the cotton swabs.

I found that any scratches on those atties allowed juice/alcohol to get under the paint. It was a goner from there. The authentic Joye atties have not had this problem so far......

2 cents.

P.S. I used ISO to remove ALL the paint when it started to go, and cleaned out the inside of the atty real well. Ends up kind of a titanium type finish anyway...lol. Avoids getting paint mixed in the juice, on hands, etc.

Hmmm, interesting. Perhaps these particular juices do have PGA. I'll have to look into that.

The finish is off at the cart end. Try as I might not to over fill and to wipe off any excess from the cartridge before sliding it back in, I still get leaks/drippage every once and again.

The authentic Joye atties have not had this problem so far......

I have no idea if these are *authentic* Joyes or not. They were sold as Joye atomizers, but who knows? Underneath the Titanium finish, they are silver. Actually, I like the silver and have thought about just swiping the whole thing with juice to 'finish off the finish', but I don't want to waste my juice, lol.

Bubbles up? Yipes. I'm less concerned about the juice (unless you're vaping Battery Acid Flavor) than about that's happening inside your atty. if the atty is plated inside and the same reaction is occurring, it seems possible to me that you're vaping the finish to some degree if it comes into contact with the heating element.

I'd question the atty manufacturer about this, unless you're using some seriously unusual juice.

Yeah, that bubbling up part is scary, isn't it?

The first juice that did this was Wintergreen, 12mg nic, strong flavor, 15% VG. I do think it fried an atty that was a week old, but I can't be sure. Anyway, I stopped using the Wintergreen.

The other two juices (Spearmint and Teaberry) are the same composition except with 40%VG and I don't appear to be having any problem with inside the atties. Yet. I swap 'em out regularly and the H checks them pretty thoroughly when he cleans them and they don't *look* damaged and the performance hasn't suffered. Again, I say YET. (Where's my wood to knock on?)

I did contact the retailer by phone and email but never got a response. :(
