I just wanted to ask a question ( and post a request ). Is it possible for places like Tasty Vapor, DIY Flavor Shack, and Ms Ts Bakery Essentials to post what order # they are currently working on within their Main Page. That way everyone with orders pending would know approximately how long before you get to theirs! I cannot believe this would be that hard as your websites typically will update when you mark as shipped anyhow. I know it would be approximate, but it would still be better than seeing "pending" for days and not know how much longer it will be before our order will be processed. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not saying to do this manually. The website would automatically update the number as they posted the orders as "shipped" which they already do anyways. This would not take ANY time away from making the juice!

I am also saying this would be approximate, not exact. It is just for customers to get some feeling of where their favorite supplier is on getting to their order. Right now we have NO IDEA!

I also understand that making their juice fresh takes time, so this would actually give them MORE time to concentrate on making juice instead answering the thousand emails asking "How long until you get to my order?"

First off if I remember correctly, which I may not, I don't think suppliers can respond here in this section of the forum so you probably won't get a reply from any of them.

Also, you have to look at it from their point of view. They may be working on order #xxxx and if they have it posted on their site then they may get people placing orders and seeing that their order number is too far past the currently posted order # for their liking and then turn around and cancel the order which causes more work for the vendor. Or many other ways that people don't think of that such a thing could turn into a hassle.

Also having an order number posted doesn't really do anything but give those watching it a false sense of knowing what is going on. A vendor may get 47 orders done one day because 40 of the orders had only 1 or 2 bottles on them but then the next day only get 6 orders done because they all had 10 bottles or more.

While some people may like the idea of it and be reasonable about it others would use it in a way that would cause more headaches for the vendors and slow all of our orders down. ;)

edit: there was only one response when I started this reply and I see I may be wrong about the first part since Angus didn't mention it in his post.

Thanks but hopefully if enough people see this it will get to them. I have already posted over on one of Tasty Vapor's threads and will probably contact them all individually for this. But lets be honest, if I am the only one asking, they probably won't give it a look. If 100 people comment on here and like the idea, probably would get further, don't ya think?

Very valid arguments. But you do not know what your order# is until AFTER you order. So that argument is moot. As far as having 10 50 bottle orders or 10 1 bottle orders I like others am only looking for an approximate time, not exact. Thanks

EDIT: Sorry, did not see the cancelling part. You are right, that could turn into a headache. But I still think most people would rather order KNOWING how long than to take 2 weeks and never place another order with that vendor.

Okay, here is my 2 cents worth.....I have ordered from one of the vendors that you mentioned and my order usually arrives only a day longer than an order that I placed with a vendor that orders their juice from others.

I know that the ones that make it fresh by each order are sure worth waiting for. I keep enough juice stocked so that there isn't a fear of running out.

Again, this is just my 2 cents.

I agree on the last part. But I think a lead time (ie: 3 - 4 day turnaround) that is changed accordingly is sufficient. That keeps people "in the loop" without getting too specific and causing more headaches.

Trust me I'm not trying to say you're wrong. I like knowing when to expect something as much as the next person. However, I have also seen some of the people who, even after being told there is an X # of days wait time, will sit there and post publicly, email, and call the vendor within 1 - 2 days of placing their order and then continue to do so until they receive their order. While most people aren't that way it's those few who are that would stalk the vendor websites constantly looking for changes to the posted number and "harass" the vendor over it which in the end would cause aggravation and headaches for the vendors which in turn could cause issues for all of us.

I personally couldn't care less. TV is my only supplier, and it really doesn't matter to me if I need to wait 5 days because Geoff hit a little road block or if I get my juice 2 days after ordering. It's not like they don't tell you they're backed up before you order.

It's also not like you're waiting weeks and weeks for these places to work on your order. If a couple extra days is too long to wait to get some juice, perhaps you should contemplate ordering a couple days earlier than you normally would.
